this is my first post, don't want to come off childish but i noticed a thread on hgh (in the old forum) and much of the talk was about otc releasers, why? With a forum like this, full of educate doctor types, why not true synthetic hgh? *note: i did'nt say human cadaver harvested* what's your take on "male-a-puase", is the diminished test levels seen in males over 40 cuased by our longevitiy growing faster then evolution? is sufficient testosterone neccesary to be happy into your old age? Do you believe the anti-test hype or is there a middle ground?

Welcome Guest,

Decreasing testosterone levels can be directly attributed to the fact that our DNA is slowly but surely trying to kill us. Lowered testosterone levels is only one part of the aging equation, how important is up to debate.

I'd be interested in feedback from those who have actually taken HGH.

HGH is interesting, the only reason I don't use it are the hurdles. Getting a prescription or buying it in Mexico. Then, the injections, and of course the cost.

Testosterone replacement therapy works well for those who have low testosterone levels. And most of us with low testosterone are older, and I am older. I have found testosterone, pregnenolone, DHEA and melatonin dermal creams to be an excellent way to maintain levels. I felt a gain each time I added a hormone. I tried the LEF testosterone cream (great price -$20 month about 5 years ago) and other creams, and had trouble with absorption. The cream I use now works consistently. The melatonin cream I just added. I think dermal has a stronger effect than oral melatonin. Zero effects noted using 3 mg pills. A 4 mg dermal dose helps a lot. I had trouble sleeping, so I did a number of things. 9:30 pm is my usual bedtime. Blackout curtains make the bedroom dark, and I adjusted my computer monitor down to 20% brightness. The melatonin cream has a strong effect, making my sleep much deeper. So for the first time in years, sleep feels rejuvenating. The quality of my life is much better with these hormones.

There is controversy about exogenous testosterone. A reduction in sperm count and endogenous production will happen. But, maybe medical treatment can recover these losses. Younger doctors have been trained to treat low testosterone and will do it. A prescription is much easier to get now. The benefits are huge, less prostate cancer risk, more strength, libido, and just better well being. I think hormones slow down aging.
