It's no BrainGate. But I still think it's a great idea, especially for the handicapped, gamers, and yes, pornoholics. Until the voice takes over verbal communication from the hands, we have to balance our needs for a pointing device and character/macro input. I doubt this will take off, however, given the popularity of multi-touch interfaces which keep pointing needs in the hands. Therefore, I doubt using pedal interfaces will take off as quickly as other, more exciting/expensive interfaces.
It's all about bandwidth... as soon as we realize the true potential of distributed computing (on the billions of parallel processing supercomputers with complex sensor arrays), interfacing - otherwise known as networking - will take off at an even faster rate. I'm really excited about the new interface revolution though. For years and years networking people have undervalued networking's return on investment.
