I had to stop taking lipoic acid after I began getting mind-splitting, full day hangovers after just a few drinks.
Last week my girlfriend decided to take my unfinished bottle - and she spent the day home sick after just 3 drinks last night.

Has anyone else experienced this? Advice on how to avoid the misery while still taking these useful supplements?

That's weird, my experience (and some comments I've seen on the subject) tells me that R-ALA before alcohol actually prevents hangovers.

Was it racemic lipoic acid or R-lipoic acid?

I drink a lot, and I take both GeroNova MitoGold (300 mg) and AOC R(+)SR (300 mg) and I never have hangovers.

No hangovers here. I'm on vacation this week and have been drinking a wee bit... I'm using AOR R(+)SR. Da good sh*t. God is that stuff expensive.
