have been on CR, and due to people like DukeNukem showing good blood numbers without CR taking supplements, you have convinced me they are worth a shot. this is what i've come up with based on what i've read on this site.

Resveratrol 1000-1500 miligrams
Acetyl - L - Carnitne
Ortho Core by AOR
Ortho Mind by AOR
EGCG MAX
Krill Oil
R Lipoic Acid, Dihrdopic Acid/COQ10
Acetyl L Carnitine
Melatonin
Creatine
Benagene

some questions:
1. should i even be doing this if i get all rda of all vitamins, minerals, aminos, and lipids?

2. if so, should i phase these in and measure blood along the way for changes.
a) if so, in what order time/frame
b) what tests should i monitor regularly (already monitor body fat, body temp, weight, blood pressure, and total cholestrol at home), have cardiocheck basic, bp, body fat %, thermom. should i add one by one then take measurements of effects that should be happen?

3) have been on zero and really don't want to do the 200 pill regiment that a Ray Kurzweil does, just the stuff with ample evidence. nothing too speculative. am mostly interested in longevity, extending lifespan, and improved blood numbers.

4) that being said, what is the opion on bioidentical hormones. Brokaw says the people look younger in a nightly report, susanne sommers can still have children at 60 and looks good. it would seem to help complement CR nicely, but not sure if it counteracts the good too? dangers?

you guys are experts and it'll be great to learn from you all.

Well, imho yes. Those supplements you picked are generally very well researched.
1) Benagene is newer and has less research than resveratrol
2) ramp up on the resveratrol slowly (especially if its a 50% extract to get used to the emodin).
3) fish oil should be sufficient instead of krill (are you taking the krill for the astaxanthin and omega 3's?
4) A lot of folks here are taking a half dose (4-5 caps) of ortho-core.
5) ALCAR and RLA can be stimulating, so ramp up on that dosage as well.
6) What are the dosages of everything you are considering?
7) is price not an issue because that stack is going to be expensive.

Some other things to consider that are very well researched:
extra vitamin D
pomegranate

not sure on the dosage except resveratrol, probably half of what's on the bottle to start, see if there are change in blood numbers. how long should i wait to test, the ones i'm interested in are the biomarkers, body temp, c reactive, insulin. probably a few more in there that would be good? any idea which ones and how often following start? i have a cardiochek device for some of them.

"fish oil should be sufficient instead of krill (are you taking the krill for the astaxanthin and omega 3's"
- ok, will switch to normal fish oil next time. we get adequate but not exceptional omega 3s (by eating grass fed beef for example) due to our low fat diet (<10%).

it's ironic that you mention astaxanthin, as that should have been included. they were doing demonstrations at whole foods, and the guy sold me when he mentioned that Perricone had their brand in his book. never really buy stuff without doing due diligence, but he was convincing about astaxanthin. hopefully there's some good research supporting it.

there was a good article on Vitamin D in longevity magazine, and we are deficient in this on our diet (that and b12, everything else good), but we make sure to get 20 mins in the sun here in las vegas, so that should be 10,000 IUs. maybe during the winter time will supplement with vitamin d more.

thinking about skipping the orthocore and vitamin supplements since getting everything through diet. maybe just take the supplements on days when nutrition could be better (vacations and the like).

There are some things in ortho-core you just can't get through diet:
1) Mixed tocopherols and tocotrienols (impossible on a low fat diet)
2) Vitamin K2 (K1 is abundant but is bound to chlorophyll thus is less bioavailable)
3) B vitamins
4) Vitamin D (already covered, however it might be a better to use sunscreen and supplement the D).
You can do the research to decide if these are important to you. The rest you can get through a good diet.

It would be pretty cheap to take 2 or 3 a day.

Krill oil has both omega 3's and astaxanthin, but when I researched price it was cheaper to by the astaxanthin and fish oil seperately that get an equivalent amount through krill. For what it is worth imho, astaxanthin looks good, but does not have the research behind it that the rest of the supplements have in your stack.

Regarding biomarkers. If you are really patient, you can test one supplement at a time. Unfortunately some things you can't readily test for (SIRT activiation, oxidation of lipids, inflammation that is not in joints or muscles, etc). Some people reported an HDL increase with resveratrol, but that isn't it's primary purpose (For example: if it doesn't raise HDL, but is activating SIRT1 its doing its job, eh?) Personally I just trust the research.
