I'm not fond of using Albuterol all the time.

My question is, given the confusing tendency of some compounds to turn pro-oxidant in certain conditions (like being dosed during or after a state of inflammation and oxidative stress) what do ya'll think? ... is it a bad idea to dose things like turmeric to try and calm down the asthma once an attack has already begun? Could it make it worse?

I mean, there's always inflammation in the body, what?

Well, hope someone can help me here and soon.

Anti-inflammatories are way too slow to have an acute effect. They're prophylactics. Are you on an inhaled steroid like Asmanex?

Mm, well, let me explain. I am generally always operating on low-level asthma, I shouldn't have used "attack". Real dangerous attacks, I get very rarely and use albuterol in such a situation. I don't like steroids and my problem isn't usually that serious (tho, been much worse since I started a course of antibiotics -- about to ditch them and start with theralac) so I take Cromolyn, which I hope will help reduce the problem over time.

Basically I was referring to a situation where the asthma is troubling but I don't want to use meds. Late at night maybe, enough to be annoying but albuterol keeps me up all night.

Definitely albuterol for something real bad if it happened -- though I wonder what fast-acting asthma medications are available for anyone taking a MAOI as I will soon be prescribed...?

Do you think that my constantly inflamed airways will react to the turmeric with bad results?
