Hi, I'm very young and grocery shopping is new to me, I've seen the personal dietary regimens here, and ive seen alot of websites reccomend several foods, in which they sometimes say to eat it raw, frozen, steamed, etc etc. They don't detail suppliers AND brands, this is what I'm looking for, as in "Food X, Brand Y at Store Z" preferably.

Some of my local stores are:

Walmart
H-E-B
Sams
Costco
Whole Foods Market
Super S Foods
Albertsons
Military Mart

The problem is, even if I know a certain kind of food to get, I don't know how much, what brand, how to tell if its loaded with unhealthy stuff, or if its a good brand, i dont know to buy canned or uncanned, etc, and I don't know how much (in ratios) to eat veggies, fruits, etc.

How to figure out if the healthy food is actually healthy from a certain brand, prepared in a certain way?
What brand of water-bottles? (Do you know of any suppliers)
Is it ok to pour stevia over everything?
Where can you get ideas/help on preparing these foods into meals?

Do any of you know a site which lists this information, or if you know any answers at all, or if you know of any widespread grocery stores in the U.S. (Texas) you can reccomend, and in general what foods they carry there that you like.

Costco has bags of organic frozen veggies! Frozen organic fruit, even whole organic chickens. I find it is hands down the place where I can feed my family the healthiest for the least amount of money. BTW where are you in Texas curiosity?

walmart is bad at life. avoid it if possible.

you should be able to get all your food at costco and whole foods.

whole food in general doesnt sell any crap... most everything there is made with good quality ingredients. their house brand is pretty cheap too, and they have an amazing bulk section.

Hi curiosity,

If you are new to nutrition, the following site gives solid dietary advice: http://www.hsph.harv...e/pyramids.html
For a more detailed discussion of health eating, recipes as well as recommended food vendor companies, see "Eat, Drink, and Be Healthy: The Harvard Medical School Guide to Healthy Eating", from Walter C. Willett.

I personally follow a paleolithic-like diet:

Best regards,

David
