Elevated CRP is an indication of elevated immune activity, like a fever.  Hearing you have a fever, and nothing else, who would say, "OMG you might have HIV!"  That would be ridiculous.  Forget the subject even came up.  You do not have HIV.

Exactly. I've had levels of hCRP in that range as well that were associated with normal infectious activity. Has been a long time ago and I've not been aware of any clinical or sub-clinical death. :)
