I have been looking around and have been able to find a ton of these Microdermabrasion machines online. Every part you need is available for them too. I was wondering how many people have gone down this route and used a microderm machine on themselves. It removes the top layer of skin and promotes collegen production. It looks as easy as running it over your affected area and moving on. Any advice in this area?

In my experience, home microdermabrasion is crap: low wattage, not enough mechanical oomph to make a difference to your dermis. Go for a TCA peel instead, see nova clinic.com.au. Turns out I don't really need it myself (yet), but having seen it in action, I will certainly be using it when those static wrinkles become more persistent, and my skin tone worsens.
I am not referring to the home microdermabrasion kits. I am talking about buying the same machine that docs have and using it yourself.
