Why is it that when I take high doses of Piracetam with no choline source (other than what is obtained through a poor diet) I get considerable spike in blood pressure?

I have tested this on 5 seperate occasions with my BP monitor. Here are my last set of results. (Please note: these are all resting BP measurements and no other supplements were taken 2 days prior).

10:00am: BP is 130/60
10:01am: Ingested 3000mgs of Piracetam
10:30am: BP is 145/75
11:30am: BP is 155/85
13:30am: BP is 175/90
By this stage I am feeling pain in my lower left jaw, left shoulder and left arm. I am also restless and but not overally worried since I've had these symptoms many, many times before.

13:31am: Ingested 1g Choline Bitartrate
14:30am: BP is 140/70
15:00am: BP is 110/50
I feel a little mentally slow, but am quite relaxed and content.
16:00am: BP is 115/55
18:00am: BP is 120/60

Now before anyone says anything, yes I am aware my blood pressure is above normal for young adult. I have a medically diagnosed congenital heart defect called ARVD which means my blood pressure is prone to going beserk. The doctor prescribed beta-blockers and calcium channel inhibitors but I ceased them due to some nasty side effects and the fact they weren't too effective.

Going off topic here...
My last full blood count showed elevated cholesterol and a slight deficiency in magnesium. If I can get my hypertension under control by improving my diet and exercise frequency etc.. It would put my mind to rest. Merely treating the symptoms without consideration to underlying factors seems silly.

Does anybody else find that choline administration eases their hypertension?

Choline has functions other than being converted into ACh within the body, and since piracetam requires high levels of ACh your system might be relocating Choline resources to primarily function as ACh. Perhaps you should try a combination of a choline/Inositol (which is shown to reduce cholesterol levels) supplementation (i'd recommend Solgar since they're a well known company) alongside with Huperzine A (50 mcg first), which raises ACh levels by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase. You can find it at GNC or any other vitamin store. I hope you're feeling alright everything considered, take care.
