Cool! But... could someone please explain a few terms to me? Yo, trixta, jive brutha? I'm trying not to be culturocentric, you know....

If you are into rapping, you might like to listen to a guy by the name of Doc Neeson, from a band called The Angels from Adelaide in South Australia. I think they called themselves Angel City for their USA releases, so as not to be confused with American glamsters Angel. Anyway, they were rapping waaaaay before it took off anywhere else. Their song Long Line is a perfect example. I am full of interesting snippets of info, arn't I?

Cooool. But do they mean anything? I have a few suggestions...

Yo: A broken children's toy, (yo-yo) perhaps with the string missing, so that when one flings it at the floor, instead of bouncing back on the string, allowing it to be flung at the floor again, it hits the floor and bounces under the couch, never to be seen again.

Trixta: One who performs trix, that is, a prostitute, or perhaps a dog who's skill level and training allow him/her to jump through hoops (performing tricks) for his/her human owner.

Jive: To attempt to explain how one wishes to leap headfirst into water with ones arms stretched in front of one, but doing the explaining with ones teeth stuck together with toffee apple candy. (A'm go'ng jivin, man...)

Bruthu: This one's easy, I'm cool, I'm a hep cat, I'm with it, (and dare I say it, I may even be dope!) this one is what the people waiting outside the train station at Kings Cross (Sydney's red light district, where I used to live in another life...) call you just before they ask you for some money to buy a train ticket, or a cup of coffee. (Am I showing my age?)

Nice work by the way dfowler! Are you a rapper, or a writer, or both? Is there any music to go with it?
