As a DJ, I read something recently about Piracetam and audio, how due to the increased cross-hemisphere activity it makes it easier for subjects to discern between two different sounds playing in each ear. The study was something about recognizing words being read, and which ear normally "dominates" -
So the question is, does piracetam change anything in regards to your hearing? Would it theoretically allow someone to better distinguish between two audio sources (like, for instance, something playing in one ear on headphones and something playing in the other ear, from say, oh, speakers)... ?
I ordered a set of 240 800 mg pills of the stuff, in addition to 250 mg pills of Choline. For someone just starting out, is that an ok starting point?
I'd be interested in any nootropics that deal with enhancing audio response, cross-hemisphere activity, and perception.
Oh, and just to be transparent, I'm also on a 100mg dosage of modafinil 5 days a week to help with a long term depression problem I've been fighting. I stay away from the stuff on the weekends to ensure that I catch up on any possible sleep debt incurred, but I don't use the stuff to not sleep, I mainly use it for it's "mood-brightening" and the fact that it keeps away the fatigue that has plagued me with long-term depression (3 yrs now). I tried "normal" antidepressants, but they all seemed to either make me more tired, impotent, or sick. Cest La Vie.
Also on fish-oil as an added dietary supplement, but I can't recall what amount.
Any other suggestions? I'm trying to do this "right", but also without breaking the bank.
Thanks,
Dave
