Hi @,

I saw the documentary Living Forever: The Longevity Revolution, I was especially interested in the part about Dr. Jennifer Lemon and her research.
I was wondering why she didn't use supplements like resveratrol, sulphurophane and carnosine.

Does anybody have an idea?

Best regards,

Simon

I sent Dr. Lemon and email to see if she will expound upon your question.

The research data on these compounds (like most) is inconclusive. the metabolism and bioavailability of resveratrol in humans in questions. Even though there have been very promising studies in animal models with resveratrol, animals metabolise resveratrol differently to humans.

Carnosine is no different. There have been studies that suggest it may be able to extend the so-called hayflick limit but once again there is simply not enough to conclusively say that these compounds will extend one's life. The lack of well designed in vivo human trials is why most people are still holding off on these supplements
