I haven't seen the previous ones in this series, but this one was good (and sad).

Describes the process of death and how it is a slow winding down process. (and not "sudden" as some people believe)

Very good overview of death in general.

that is exactly why i will do ANYTHING to prevent aging/death....anything. may the good lord have mercy on anyone who gets in my way, because I will not.
I think in many ways people here underestimate the power of the luddites and how far they'll go to keep the status quo. which would be fine in theory, if they keep to themselves and stay out of my way, but unfortnately, they feel the need to make laws for me that I neither respect nor will follow.

don't fool yourselves, this is a war. a war against ignorance, the status quo, and apathy. The technology will continue to improve, faster, and faster ect. But it's the idiots who I'm primarily concerned with, who see the aforementioned as inevitable and actually condone the downward spiral of decay known as aging. I won't go into a history lesson here, but needless to say, the masses can do quite a bit of damage if left to their own devices.

I am also worried about the political future of anti-aging Karomesis. But you need not worry about the stem cell front. I shall secure our position in that respect.

It was indeed. I watched the whole video and could never imagine myself in the state that the old Derbie was in the final parts of the video. It is very sad that we still age and go to states like his. But that's what death is, and this video really illustrates it well; currently there's nothing we can do about it, we can only sit and wait for the final doom.

Luddites won't be able to delay much, if they ever manage to delay it for even a bit of time.

The only thing that i'm really scared that could get in my way is death. But if i don't get to live forever, at least i'll die trying, and it will be a hell of a fight to get me out of this world

Hopefully we can get the majority of people out there thinking the same way.

Interesting, but do they have to have such a deathist attitude? I could've gagged when he started going on about how 'our atoms live on forever becoming parts of other things'. Does anyone really expect me to be okay with dying just because some mindless atoms survive?

If you liked this one, you should check out the others in the series, particularly Everday Miracle (pregnancy-fetus development), First Steps (baby development) and Brain Power (focus on human brain). These and most of the rest have been posted at Betterhumans. Just go the videos section, then search on "Human Body", and the entire series (almost - missing 'teen years') should return. We have over 400 videos of comparable content and quality, so enjoy!

Thank you for sharing this Live Forever.

I agree with karomesis, to me this video is a reminder that we have so much important work still ahead of us. "...it will be a hell of a fight to get me out of this world", like am988 said.

I did see the deathist tone though, I am not in agreement with the narrator in that "understanding what happens to us when we die can do much to ease our fears and dispel our anxieties". He states that our ability to face our own death is perhaps our most remarkable. I think truly facing life and wanting to live is our most remarkable ability.

Yes thank you for sharing--I showed this to my eight year old, Avryn at bedtime. He'd just been reading a book on the human body during his treadmill time, so this was great to watch with him.
