been dealing with chronic fatigue and mental weariness for several years now... got diagnosed with idiopathic insomnia back in 2003, recently diagnosed with bipolar. As you can imagine, I've tried A LOT of drugs over this time period, nothing really working too effectively.

As of today I'm on a regmine of lithium, risperdal, mirtazapine, wellbutrin and provigil.

the first four I have not been on for long enough to really say if they'll help me sleep better and or improve my energy... the first two are supposed to take down the manic side of me, which I don't really find that bad or even in existence (I think my bipolar diagnosis may be wrong, though I still might have depression). The provigil is barely affordable for me so I haven't yet had a chance to try it continuously... I have some cheap adrafinil on the way though so that will be my first real test with the modafinil compound.

I also found out about nootropics while searching for adrafinil, and ordered some aniracetem. Sounds like it could work for me?

modafinil and methylphenidate seems like the best for you. Good luck with your recovery and finances.

Are you taking prescription lithium carbonate? If so, you may want to switch to OTC lithium orotate. Take 120-360mg a day depending on your needs. You may be fine with only 120mg, who knows? Start on fish oil, though no more than 3g a day since you are bipolar. Maybe try some selegiline and get rid all your listed supplements? So, I'd say a good multi-vitamin, fish oil, calcium and magnesium, lithium orotate, rhodiola rosea (150mg X 3: or more), and selegiline citrate (not the hcl version called deprenyl). Depending on your age, the dosage of selegiline would be altered. I'd say since you are bipolar though, not more than 1mg ED or EOD.

Read the whole page. It provides interesting insight into lithium in general as well as the reasons for my saying to use the orotate OTC salt of lithium.

The selegiline citrate from anecdotal reports and better bio-availability subligually. People have also perportedly experienced a more dirty feeling on the hcl version of selegiline.

Perhaps look into Modafinil as well. Of course get medical advice.

It's known that you need to get your liver enzymes checked with Adrafinal. Modafinil (Provigil) doesn't require this.
There are studies on PubMed of Modafinil being given to those on anti-depressants to alliviate the side effect of fatigue symptoms.
I found Modafinil wakes me up, but had an irritablitity, anti-social effect.
Piracetam actually gives me much energy. Not the speedy kind of caffeine or other stimulants, but by getting my thoughts racing not only made reading a pleasure, but faster thinking resulted in more physical energy at work with no negative effect on mood. If anything my mood was up and more sociable.

Are you exercising a lot? Are you eating well? Are you taking omega 3?
