It's really exciting to see true photorealism emerging in virtual reality now. If only we could get past that in modeling humans...

even the top graphics cards can't run it smooth on highest settings yet, only 20-30 fps

I'm running an HD 2600 XT 512mb and it runs 30-35 at mid-high settings.

He means high res (1600x1200+) with 4x Anti-aliasing and quality settings at ultra high. This will choke even high end SLI setups into the unplayable range.

Yes.... maybe in some 2 years we will have a PC that will run it in max settings without any problems. That will be a very nice experience.

Nvidia is releasing its next gen chip (G100) in March which is supposed to be faster than two 8800GT's. That will probably be the first card to run Crysis at its full potential.

I'm able to run the game well enough but doesn't look as pretty as what you see on very high end machines. This below is my computer:

Antec TruePower Trio 650W PSU - With 3x 12v Rails
ASUS M2R32-MVP Radeon Xpress 3200 CrossFire
AM2: Athlon 64 X2 5000+
2 GB (2x1gb) Ultra low latency GEIL RAM
Power Colour ATI X1950XT 512mb GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics card
Creative Audigy 2 6.1 surround sound
160gb hdd
2x 250gb s/ata hdd
Pioneer dvd writer

I'm looking to upgrade to AMD's new quad core eventually as it can run on an AM2 board. I typically get around 25fps on Crysis as a resolution of 1024x768 and all settings on high. This is good enough for now, and I don't mind putting down the resolution to this... trying to run it at a higher res becomes a slide show. I was going to go for an ATI 2900XT but the power requirements for two of those is huge... Apparently crysis runs better on Nvidias gfx cards anyway.

I honestly can't see any noticeable difference between Crysis and real life. Are the pictures on the right from Crysis? I think so, but I'm nowhere near sure.

The right side is obvious scenes from Crysis.

As far as i understood it, the right side is pictures from crysis and the left side are "real life" pictures.
