Quick idea...

How about small, unintrusive pixel blocks (mini-icons) under a member's name to allow people to show their affiliation and support for related organizations and initiatives like the 300, Alcor, Lifeboat Foundation, Singularity Institute, etc.?

Here's a mockup I created by resizing some logos down to 32x32 pixels.

Even smaller would be better if clarity could be maintained.

Nice idea, I like it too!

But do we have to be members of these other groups, or can we just put icons we support. For example I support the M-Prize but I don't think I'll become one of the 300 any time soon.
