Okay, so I made some protein ice cream today. I decided to post the recipe just in case any of the low-carb guys wanted something resembling dessert.

Warning:
Compared to real ice cream, or anything that tastes good, this stuff is heinous.
It contains dairy.
It contains sucralose.

But, if you don't care about the dairy/sucralose, you're dieting, or you want to halfway fake like low-carb diets don't make you cry inside, it's not that bad.

I made a huge batch for some reason. 1/4 of the finished recipe would be enough for a single serving for most anyone.

2.5 cups cottage cheese
.5 cups egg whites
2 scoops whey
2 Tablespoons cashew butter
10 packets of Splenda

What I made worked out to around ~125 grams of protein, 50 grams of carbs, and 30 grams of fat. You could certainly change stuff around to your liking. Or buy real ice cream.

Edit: So, a couple hours post semi-solid protein...I think I've struck marketing genius. Combine this with the paleo cookies that I tried during the summer and I've got the perfect diet food. Protein + tastes bad enough to keep a mild sense of nausea after eating it = sexiness.

I think that I am going to have to pass on that recipe. I was planning on making ice cream at home and just substituting xylitol and stevia for sugar. I have not gotten around to it yet though. I would love to make it with raw grass fed milk, but you can't buy that here in CO unless you own a share in a cow.

I take in around 250 grams/day at the moment. This seems to be my sweet spot as far as keeping athletic performance respectable and not getting the carb bloat.

I'm 90% sure this was the recipe:

Around a cup of almond butter
1 whole egg or egg white (if using whole egg, not an extra large or
jumbo-too much liquid)
Couple of tablespoons of unsweetened applesauce
about half a cup of raisins or other chopped dried fruit
Couple of tablespoons dessicated unsweetened coconut

Beat all ingredients together. It should be thick batter, but not as thick
as cookie dough. Drop by tablepoons on a cookie sheet. Bake in oven (around
375) until they start to go golden, about 10-12 minutes. Allow to cool,
then eat!

Someone might make fine eating with that recipe. I did not.

I always blend or just mix

milk
frozen berries
and stevia or raw honey IF you like it sweet

for something ice creamy., while due to lack of fat, it has a
different consistence (a bit more like parfait), it tastes totally
great, Plus in larger doses, the anthocyanins from fresh berries
give a brain boost that is IMO more noticeable than equivalent supps,
if you eat a few hundred grams as main course. If you want to make it
even healthier replace milk with soy milk, in which case you'll want to
sweeten it some more. I'm enjoying this since 10+ years in the summer. :~

But I'll also try the other recipe, should have higher protein
and additional benefits after a workout. Btw, you can also add
in protein powder to a berry-milk mix, but the consistence and
taste can get strange (if you try, best use unflavored protein powder).
