After experiencing numbness and tingling in one of my hands and noticing a loss of strength I had a test done by a specialist. He said I was on the edge of permanent nerve damage and may require surgery (which as a very low success rate). When asked what I could do to heal it I was basically just told to rest and not use my hands/arms. As someone that relies on keyboarding/mousing to make a living and enjoys weightlifting and guitar playing in his free time, this was especially bad news.

I did have one doctor recommend B vitamins (B12?) to help with nerve growth. So I try to get at least one multi in a day. I was also able to get an anti inflammatory med. However, I'd like to do more. Would something like idebenone or inistol possibly be useful in this situation? What about some other noots? When someone claims a noot has neurogensis properties, can that be applied to the entire CNS or just the brain? Lastly, could CNS stims such as adderall and caffeine aggravate the symptoms? The docs didn't seem to know, but maybe that's because they weren't up to date...

Any and all input/opinions/research greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Have you heard of lion's mane mushroom? it's known to stimulate nerve growth.
