Looking over recent threads, I feel we really need a separate section to cover military related topics given its prevalence in society and obvious impact on life.
Thinking about where it would fit within the existing forum hierarchy, consider the broad scope of topics it covers:
- Military technology and research
- Military related space technologies
- Military-Industrial complex
- Impact on society and government
- Military related performance enhancing technologies - e.g., drugs, prosthetics, exoskeletons, decision-support systems, etc
- Military sponsored computer technologies
- Military use of AI and the increasing use of unmanned and autonomous vehicles and aircraft
- Technologies increasingly used to monitor and analyze civilian populations for threats
- Threats related to advanced weapon systems and technologies
- etc...
If anyone thinks this is a reasonable idea, I'll volunteer to dig through the old threads and create of list of links to posts to consider moving.
