Nokia's Morph Concept

Posted Image

Thoughtware.TV member, Singularity, has contributed this amazing video from Nokia, which resulted out of a collaboration project of Nokia Research Center and Cambridge Nanoscience Center. You can watch the best version of this video (6 mins), or alternatively you can watch the short version (3mins).

The video description is as follows:

Where will Nanotechnology take us in the next decades? Morph is a concept demonstration by Nokia, showing the technological possibilities of the next wave of communication devices. Morph can sense its environment, is energy harvesting and self cleaning. Morph is a flexible two-piece device that can adapt its shape to different use modes. Nanotechnology enables to have adaptive materials yet rigid forms on demand.

Great video! Thanks for sharing it :)

There are a lot of innovations in that video; flexible electronics, transparent electronics, nanotechnology, etc.

Most of the stuff is still in R&D and it will be about a decade or two before any of it actually hits the markets.

Flexible displays however, will probable come on the market in about 4 to 8 years. Theres a lot of research about flexible displays going on in own my university too ... the technology is pretty cool :)
