From frequenting the boards and using the search capabilities, I see that few people are using Silymarin powder from Beyond a Century and also talked about the Lecithin/Silymarin Siliphos formula.

I am curious as to who is taking Silymarin and what the best product/prices they have found.

I've taken the following brands:

1. Enzymatic Therapy, Super Milk Thistle (Phytosome). One part Milk Thistle Extract, standardized to contain 80% silymarin, bound to two parts phosphatidylcholine (soy) using a patented process.

2. Life Extension, Silibinin Plus, (from milk thistle seed powder extract), (Silybum marianum), Silymarin (from milk thistle seed powder extract) (Silybum marianum).

3. Jarrow Formulas, Milk Thistle Seed 30:1 Extract (Silybum marianum) 80% total flavonoids.

4. Now Foods, Silymarin Milk Thistle Extract, 300 mg, Milk Thistle Extract, (Silybum marianum) (Fruit and Seeds) (Standardized to 80% Silymarin Flavonoids),
300 mg, Dandelion Root Extract, (Taraxacum officinale) (4:1) 100 mg, Artichoke Extract, (Cynara scolymus) (Leaf) (Standardized to 2% Cynarin).

I currently buy all my Milk Thistle exclusively on iHerb. I have a VIP account with them so the prices are reasonable. I do not and will not take any products from B-A-C.

I currently empty capsules of Puritan's Pride's stuff into a Miralax solution. (1 gram Milk Thistle extract to 2 grams Miralax.) It helps solubility some, but you still end up with a bunch of floating clumps. I'm not buying it again no matter how cheap it might get because the capsules are very hard to open. 1Fast400's powder looks good. Disclaimer: milk thistle tastes awful.

The one I have taken in the past was Life Extension's Mega Silymarin. It's a very potent and complete silymarin supplement. Don't know how the price compares to the competition though..

Curious, what is your gripe with BAC?

I get most of my supps from them. Is there something I should know about?

note: I get my milk thistle from bulk nutrition because it cheaper but most everything else is from BAC

I don't have a gripe with BAC or any supplement company for that matter. I'm just very picky when it comes to supplements.

I've been buying/ingesting supplements since 1979 and have learned from trial and error over the years that when it comes to
supplements you get what you pay for. I really don't know what the quality is from BAC or Bulk Nutrition. Maybe the quality
is good. I'm certainly not going to take their word for it.

YMMV.

I bought a lot of stuff from BAC. It's a small company but it might
provide a good illustration of what's going on in the US (the world?).
The company was founded by a guy who's name I don't remember. But I
managed to talk to him when I had some questions. Seems this guy
retired. So his son inherited the company which he put on an assembly
line. Chinese powders come in on one end and plastic containers with
some of the stuff come out of the other and are sent to you. Doesn't
seem he analyzes or understand much of anything.

mmm

All the products I have gotten appear consistent from batch to batch, they taste like they are suppose to, smell fresh etc., now granted my five senses aren't a very sophisticated lab, but they do tell me there is no reason to get paranoid. If I had the spare cash I would buy everything from say AOR or perhaps LEF but as it is in order to take all the stuff I am taking I have to get most of it in powder form and BAC seems to be the best deal going for most of this stuff (edit: in fact it is the only deal going for some of the more hard to find life extension type stuff unless you want to go real bulk direct from the suppliers, but then there would be some shelf life issues)

I don't want to be misunderstood. I agree that BAC should be regarded as one of the
top suppliers because of the number of powders they carry and
reasonably prices. But it'll be even better if they provide more
information and if the new guy in charge were available to answer
questions (whoever answers the phone is not very helpful).

He responded to an e-mail of mine, so you could give that a try.
