i dont think people place strong enough emphasis on quality control... what you SHOULD be looking for in a company so you arent being slowly poisoned by your supplements:

integrative therapeutics/enzymatic therapy (video on the front page)

pure encapsulations

Pure encapsulations looks interesting. I haven't seen them before. But is there any way for a normal person to actually buy their products? It looks like only doctors (or patients) can buy their stuff. Or do they happen to make products for other companies using a different label?

any doctor only brand can be purchased online... just tap the name into google shopping.

i just purchased some stuff from pure encapsulation & orthomolecular products (both doctor only brands) from http://www.naturalhealthyconcepts.com today

Thanks. Odd they state that only doctors can buy their products, then sell it like any other manufacturer. I guess it adds credibility for marketing purposes.

By the way, how good (or bad) are Doctor's Best supplements considered? I buy two products from them, ubiquinol and a red wine extract -- mostly because they are inexpensive and I figure it'd be hard for them to mess them up. They should be using decent sources (Kaneka and Biovin). Any opinions there?

I always bigged up NOW! foods (among others) for purity and processing technology...but wow. Definitely going to be doing some comparing on a few of these brands I hadn't heard of before. Nice finds!

they only sell them to you if you have a medical license... so most of the online stores that sell them have a nutritionist on staff. doctors best is fine, they dont actually produce anything to the best of my knowledge... its all 3rd party patented products. kaneka & biovin are top notch.

Amen to that, ajnast4r. :p

My own experience with supplements is you get what you pay for. I'll add:

I believe New Chapter is also considered a good brand. Overpriced, but good quality.

Pure Encapsulations & Designs for Health only sell to medical professionals however, but if you are recommedend or have their information they will allow you to buy after verification. My RD (Registered Dietitian) has a relationship with Emerson Ecologics so that when I gave them her name I got 5% off. When I bought direct from Designs for Health, I got no discount, go figure. DFH also didn't process my order right away, as they verify the name, number and city/state of the practioner.

I'm looking into Pure Encapsulations cause they have the only cost effective form of liquid Vitamin D I've seen anywhere. A 22.5 ml bottle that gives you 1000 IU's per drop with 810 servings (drops). For me that means one bottle will last me about 4 months @ 50,000 IUs a week. All for the cost of $20, I'm sorry but you can't beat that.

ok I take back what I said..... well.... you can buy from online stores as long as they have some sort of medical person on staff...

Here's a quote I got from off the www.oakwayhealthcenter.com site:
IMPORTANT NOTICE: All of our products are purchased factory direct. This means that all orders are sent DIRECTLY from the manufacturer. This ensures the highest quality in freshness and absolute longest shelf life. 95% of our product line is professional strength, and can only be ordered for you via a registered healthcare professional. We are a healthcare facility and therefore can sell directly to you.

Is Designs for Health considered a reputable brand? I see they have an Albion mag/malate chelate that I am considering buying from them (assuming I can find a a way to buy it), but I never heard of them before.

My doctor likes Designs For Health, he has had me use stuff from them.

I think they are really expensive, though. For example, I duplicated one of their products using Custom Capsule for 1/5 of the price.

There are lots of places that sell it online, for example, I have bought from this site:

http://www.totaldisc...SubfolderID=522

Sometimes you need a bogus login for certain brands which the site will give you if you ask. For this site the login is "total" and the password is "health".
