Thanks for posting up. The Engineers are aware of the problem and are currently seeking a resolution, as far as I know.

NuzGirba seems to be a widespread hack of Invision Power Board, the software that we and a lot of other people use for our forums. If you do a Google search for nuzgirba, it's pretty interesting. The little guy gets around... And I was hoping that PM was a creepy attempt to hit on me. ;)

I got this spam too.
When I saw the name I suspected it was a spam bot and I was right.
The link was hidden in a link to a topic, but it was to a Russian site (I didn't click on it)

If you see a spam message in the future please contact a member of the Navigator team immediately. You can find a Nav or other leader who is online by looking at the bottom of the forum page: http://www.imminst.org/forum/

Look for the names highlighted in green or red.

I just receive a PM from member BRICKERZA with a link to adultfinder.com. This is not the first time. I have been getting those from various members during the last few weeks.

I don't know why everyone's making a big fuss about it. The spam doesn't bother me particularly; so far i've only received one message with spam and it was clear it was spam i didn't even click on the link. Nothing other than 1 spam message.

But maybe i'm just lucky and others have been receiving more spam than i have?

Advertising is being stolen and people are receiving links to porn sites in their private message boxes.

You don't think it's ok to make a fuss about that?

Sure it is, seems like our system is particularly vulnerable to spam, which is bad. However, it's not particulary annoying, sometimes it's actually hilarious.

Advertising is being stolen? What do you mean by that?

I have been getting emails sent to my gmail account from Imminst...I'm not sure if they are really spam because the link directs me to a closed Imminst account usually.

However they are annoying.

Today I received another worthless message from someone here named "justrakop"

I also received: justrakop has sent you a new personal message titled "Read all".
Messenger feature is disabled on this board (good thing).

I tried to email Navigator "FunkOdyssey" (highlighted in red) and received this error, "Sorry, you are not permitted to send an email via this board"

I came here to see the private messages I've been notified of, but I can't seem to find a way to access them.

In light of this thread, I assume that most, or all, of the new messages were spam, and that the private messaging feature has been temporarily disabled. Is this correct?

I still haven't accessed the actual messages, but I recognise that two of the senders have been identified here as spammers, namely "nuzgirba" (at least one message) and "justrakop" (who sent two messages with the subject "Read all".

I'm confident that "weekend" from user "brickerza" is also spam. Did anyone else get the same? (Oh, there's already one mention of this "brickerza"... I didn't notice until having typed the whole message.)
