Hey - First post here. I'm hoping to find some feedback on a new GABA product. It's called Pharmagaba, and it's a natural form of GABA. The reason I'm interested is because it may actually cross the BBB.

The dosage on the bottle is low when compared to the doses some people take of synthetic GABA.

Below are a couple links with more info.

Hi Gliche,

I'm always suprised by how many people take GABA since there is evidence that very little if any crosses the BBB. Does PharmaGABA have clinical trials proving their product is absorped and utilized? If so I would definately be interested.

I think you may be better off w/ Glutamine and Taurine if you want to increase your GABA levels along w/ a few herbs.

No feedback, so went ahead and got a bottle. They are chewable tablets, and it just makes sense to chew them up and let it absorb a sublingually for a minute. Over the last couple days I've found that 2 or 3 tablets will bring a nice relaxed clarity. It has a quick onset and lasts for a few hours. It's not like a benzo, beer, or phenibut. It just feels like pure clean GABA, and at 100 mg per tablet it must be crossing the BBB very well.

id be really interested to know how exactly naturally produced GABA differs from synthetic GABA as [i assume] they are both exactly the same molecule?

Here is a video of Dr. Murray explaining the benefits of PharmaGABA:

http://www.iherb.com...685198325369161

In the video he says "...in a head to head clinical trial, with PharmaGABA versus the synthetic GABA, the synthetic GABA was not shown to produce these effects (increase of Alpha waves and reduction in Beta brainwave activity). It is possible that the chemically produced synthetic GABA is not recognized as natural GABA in the body and is unable to produce the effects noted in PharmaGABA."

I haven't used this product but am really interested in it. I'd like to hear from those who have used it and would like to relate their experiences with it.
