I thought I'd touch on this topic again. We have a nice large blank space up there that could host a variety of banners for good causes. Obviously, I think this is a good idea since I do it on the Longevity Meme, but it seems we should have this discussion again here. Some suggested banners:

1) Methuselah Mouse
2) advertising the Imminst book (once far enough down the path to create a banner)
3) CR Society
4) any of the active stem cell/regenerative medicine activism groups
5) The Longevity Meme ()
6) Imminst forum topics we really really want people to look at; a good draw from the home page

And so forth. As I mentioned before, banner ads for the right groups make Imminst look more credible to people who are already aware of them, and help to make casual visitors view Imminst as a part of a wider culture.

Eying that free space again.. eh?

Personally, I'm weighing the memetic advantage vs the general callousness by many toward banner ads and the association banner ads have with commercial sites.

Yet, I'm still open here.. as this may be good time to use the director's vote.. i'll be happy to go along with any decision.
