I'm just wondering if it makes a difference. I guess one could take it in the middle of the meal as well. Would taking a supplement at the start of a meal prevent it from not getting mixed up well with what you're eating? What do you guys do?

depends what it is. herbs to aid digestion generally want to be taken at the beginning of a meal, other than that it makes no difference. your stomach is gonna churn it all up for a few hours anyway

Usually beginning or middle. If taken afterwards I get heartburn.
