Hello,

I am 26 years old turning 27. I am 5'7ft tall weighting 145kg. I'm new at this and currently taking

Vit C
Vit E
Selenium
Alpha Lipoic Acid
Omega 3
Resveratrol

I want to add calcium, B, D, carotenoid, grape, grape seed, krill, flaxseed, primrose, r-lipoic acid.

What else should I take for my basics/essentials?

Thanks

If you are really 140 kg then losing that weight will do more for you than any supplement.

There are some supplements you can take that will *help* you lose weight.

Some of these are:

- green tea extract (get the caffeinated one)

- forskolin

Also there's a great thread on this site dealing specifically with weight loss. Do a search for "weight loss tips" and you'll find the right thread.

Good luck dude.

I think if you're looking for specific recommendations you may need to talk more about what exactly you're wanting your regimen to accomplish. Do you want to focus more on life extension? Nootropics? Do you have some issues you're hoping to correct? If you can describe what you're looking for I think we might be able to offer more advice.

You should probably also post the amounts you're taking of all those things.

Why not a Multivitamin?

And I guess you meant Carnosine :p

If you already take Carnosine for anti-glycation, maybe also some extra
benfotiamine (should you ever not be able to afford Carnosine, it's also
a second good choice). I think you need 1g Carnosine to be able to
overpower carnosinase, taking less than a critical amount makes no sense.

I'd go for acetyl-L-Carnitine and R-Alpha-Lipoic-Acid instead of plain ALA,
you can't overestimate the mitochondrial role in long-term aging effects.

At least some choline (200mg), lecithin and/or TMG to protect brain and youthful methylation patterns.

Otherwise, nice regimen :|o

After reading this article, I've decided to get rid of my

Vitamin E (Natural Factors)
Selenium (Natural Factors)
Alpha Lipoic Acid (Natural Factors)

and replace them with

Total E (AOR)
SeMC (AOR)
R(+) SR (AOR)

I will post the current list later

Thanks for tips Mixter. I'll look them up.

Drop the Conjugated Linoleic Acid and DMAE. Instead of DMAE, use Alpha-GPC, CDP-Choline, or Centrophenoxine. I would also add piracetam to the mix. It is great for the brain and cognition. Make sure your calcium is of the citrate kind and might add some magnesium citrate in there as well. A general multi-vitamin wouldn't hurt either just to make sure you get a complete spectrum, trace amounts of goodies lacking in your standalone choices. I think milk thistle is a must as well and make sure not to overdo it on the EGCG.

I hope that you are exercising or something regularly. Taking all the anti-oxidants which you are taking and not doing something which causes a lot of oxidative stress in counterproductive in my opinion. There should be an oxidant---anti-oxidant balance within the body. Don't forget to eat well and drink lots of 'good' water daily and rid yourself of any artificial sweeteners and pop you may be consuming on a daily basis. If you must have sugar, make sure it is natural sugar.

You are on the right path though. Good luck!

Thanks for that. I am adding yoga & aerobics next month. ;)

I dropped CLA and DMAE already and I really appreciate your advice on what to replace it with.

Your welcome. Anyone on the quest for immortality, I am here to assist! ;)

Also, adding a resistance training regimen wouldn't hurt either.
