I've been looking for an affordable "all in one" cream that will help protect, moisturize, and minimize wrinkles. What do you guys think of the new xtendlife line of day and night creams?

They use some unique ingredients.

I clicked on "clinical studies" and found this statement from the company:

Virtually no manufacturer conducts clinical studies on their finished products. This is because of the cost which can run into millions of dollars and unlike a synthetic pharmaceutical product which can enjoy patent protection there is no such protection with natural products.

This is untrue. Cosmetic companies with the biggest research budgets in the world (Loreal, Procter & Gambles Olay, J & Js Neutrogena, Shiseido, Estee Lauder, Kao corp and Beiersdorfs Nivea) all publish both experimental studies on individual molecules and clinical studies on the final formulation.

There´s no way to tell what this cream may do beyond moisturize dry skin. We don´t know if the ingredients penetrate skin, if they do anything or if they´re compatible in this formula. I stay away from products with no studies on the finished product.

Hi Frederik,

The main 3 ingredients used are backed by Clinical Trials. Of course this does not necessarily make their product worth the money.

Looking at the some of the ingredients it looks like the product may be quite oily. My experience is limited to transdermal carriers so I'm not sure if it is necessary for these products to adequately penertrate the stratum corneum to elicit any real effect. The vast majority of products don't so I really wonder how they can offset ROS or free radical formation in deeper tissues like the epidermis.
