Hello!
I just had a new porcine aortic valve installed about 10 weeks ago. The valve was not properly installed and I am having a fair amount of leakage through it. The doc lists it as moderate leakage. They are concerned that with the valve having a lot of turbulence because of the leakage of the leaflets, that I may have problems with blood clots. I suggested taking Nattokinase, but the doc said that because the Nattokinase is a proteolytic enzyme, it may disolve the basically dead porcine valve. Does any one have an opinion on that happening? There are lots of proteolytic enzymes already in body naturally, would one more hurt?
Thanks
al

I wouldn't do it, I think you doctor has a valid point, different enzymes unlock and dissolve different substances and even different proteins, I wouldn't risk it.

This topic should obviously be moved to the general supplements thread.
