Well first off I tried MDMA with a friend and ever since then I have been researching nootropics and ways to increase my natural serotonin levels, not to the extreme levels they reach while on MDMA but a subtle increase; I think my natural levels of serotonin are too low. I have trouble sleeping, anxiety problems, and I am a bit of a social recluse, very secretive; of course I opened up on MDMA and to be honest it was one of the most liberating things to ever happen to me but I don't want to take MDMA regularly.

Now I read 5-HTP is a pre-cursor to 5-HT but if you take it orally it will be distributed everywhere and won't cross the blood barrier, in another thread here I read that taking it sublingually (under the tongue i believe) helped and asked in the same thread if insufflating the 5-HTP would achieve the same effect but have yet to get a response. http://www.imminst.o...mp;#entry253274 the thread.

The reason I want to add the L-DOPA (or carbidopa/levodopa) is because I figure dopamine and serotonin is a match made in heaven. Also the carbidopa is supposed to work very well with 5-HTP, so it can be orally taken.

I've been researching various other supplements such as ALCAR and carphedon but I'm looking for something more like a subtle background effect, not something I would notice I was on.

I have 4 goals really:
Increase serotonin
Increase Dopamine
Promote nerve growth and cell protection in the brain
Increase oxygen flow to the brain

Now would Carbidopa, 5-HTP and L-DOPA (or levodopa 5-HTP) be a safe combination? Any recomended dosages?

I also plan on taking a lot of Vitamin C, that stuff is supposed to be magical, Vitamin B (B6 especially, maybe extra inositol as well)

Finally here are other supplements I may consider/will probably take with the exception of the first:
lipoic acid + ALCAR
piracetam
spirulina
EPA + DHA (what would be a good ratio?)

supplements I dont know much about are:
L-Deprenyl - because of diet issues I was planning to source some SAMe but I heard some good stuff about it
Pyritinol
Dextroamphetimine
Seroxat
Xanax

FINALLY

I will be taking up jogging, I have always cycled regularly but it just seems to have given me really strong legs while still being generally unfit. Does anyone recomend I take Creatine along with any of the above or to help in general at all?

p.s. Sorry it turned into a bit of an essay

An earlier thread on the topic of L-Dopa over here:

In short: Unless you have Parkinsons, taking L-Dopa is a bad idea.

Thanks, L-Tyrosine seems to be the way to go with 5-HTP then. Any good brands?

Make sure you do not take them at the same exact time during the day. L-Tyrosine and 5-HTP will both compete for absorption.

As for brands, I would have to say that NOW Brand is your best bet. I've tried both their 5-HTP and L-Tyrosine in the past, and both worked extremely well for my needs at the time.
