What are some other sites or follow to get new ideas about optimization techniques that can be applied to our team?

If other teams are coming up with good ideas, we might as well steal them, haha.

dnamechanic mentioned this one in another thread:
http://forums.legitr...m/forum-16.html
(including the thread mentioning us by name)

...and of course there are the "official" folding forums:
http://foldingforum.org/

Anyone else have any other sites to keep an eye out on?

Always good to keep an eye out for the latest folding methods and newest hardware.

One thing that we have going for us (other than big prizes) is dedication. A lot of people who fold for TLM are hardcore life-extensionists. That is why I think we have the highest percentage of active folders on any particular day - about 25%. Most teams only have about 10%.

Well there's some excellent information on there, and it's a very friendly, non-techy-smug, forum. I didn't know that one should only OC the shaders and drop down the memory etc to max out PPD for example.

Recalling Legit Reviews discussed earlier here and in Live Forever's initial post above.

This is what The Longevity Meme team currently looks like in Legit Reviews rear-view.

Actually, several high-ranking teams see TLM bearing down on their position.

Occasionally team TechPowerUp is visible in TLM's rear-view, sometimes quite visible.

Seems as if TechPowerUp noticed TLM (scroll way down), around Rank 100.

They are poised around #100 right now.

I want to run these guy's down and overtake them in the next couple of months. Nothin' like a little healthy competition.

Yep, Buck Nasty, you are certainly a good folder.

Maybe you could use more practice with prognostications. :p

The TLM team would probably agree, "Nothin' like a little healthy competition".

Wow, this is really inspiring to the idea of the small incentive. I mean, I know fah runs largely on teams eagerness to compete for points but reading through this, what buck nasty says, and that link that liveforever posted where another team mentions us by name, it really brings to life the activity that goes around and the energy that goes into pursuing this goal, in many cases just to compete for points.

A few discussions have been had about this. One in particular I recall is one that me and lightowl were getting into about creating a points incentive like this for forum participation and recruit drives and stuff. We have a variety of projects rolling for this kind of thing like #30 of the LEEEP rough draft. That is one of the first projects on our list of priorities. This topic here has reinstilled my motivation to forge forth with that.

Imagine ImmInst members left and right lining up and stumbling over each other to gain points by helping with projects like they do to help with fah. Man, the thought alone gives me butterflys in my stomach. Onward and upward!

Someone needs to PM Buck Nasty and tell him he needs to switch to our side, haha. (he would virtually guarantee himself the top $$ prize every quarter if he was competing on our team)

Only 4 months left until they overtake us. We need to break the 400k PPD until then to put up a good fight. Sounds doable, doesn't it? :-D

I see Buck Nasty has joined here at imminst. Has anybody done any salesmenship to try to get him to join our team?

If the idea that he'll continuously get the top prize isnt enough to entice him then lets try to think up some other ideas.

These are just ideas:

-maybe negotiate a price with him, I dont know, just throwing this out there, is it worth $100 per month? and then keep the price system the same for everybody else?

-along those lines, how about lets add a larger top prize on top of the current one.

Buck would launch us into the top ten and our mission with fah would be accomplished right there wouldnt it? From there our prize system would likely draw in even more members from around the fah community who notice us in the top ten. That would also give the potential to meme all those people into the cause. If we can find a deal that Buck is willing to do then I think we should at least trial the idea.

If it causes the team to explode with action and garner a lot of attention, like, internet news source inquiries, university journalist inquiries etc... Then it may be well, well worth it.
