The only reason the FEC is looking into it is so the RNC will quit whining like babies. The right wingers need to grow up and start dealing with reality instead of hiding in fantasies.

It isn't a fantasy. It is documented proof. Whether you like it or not, Obama has received money from terrorists and many others in Iran. This is absurd. It is a 100% conflict of interest, and there are no excuses for it Zenob.
Why do terrorists support Obama, yet anyone else who turns their back on the Muslim faith is shunned with a death sentence on their head?

This is the question to Obama.

Why are terrorists and people from Iran giving you money to help you get into the White House?

According to a political writer in Haaretz, Osama bin Laden has told his followers to make a major strike in the US before hte election, to swing it to the Republicans. He thinks they are esier to manipulate. So I wonder why they are also giving Obama money too.

You know, if Bush peeled off a mask Scooby Doo style and revealed that he was actually Osama all along, I don't think I'd be surprised. lol

Yeah, so only the anti-McCain stuff has its own threads. That is a real smart idea. Way to suppress information because you have such a close bond to your super buddy; "we can't let it be seen by everyone so let's hide them". You're a real piece of work maxxy.

It's just that you start so many Topics, with different accusations but same point. It clutters the place. Savage, Biknut, Zenob and others start topics, but are nowhere near as prolix. If they were, it would be desirable to merge their topics too. It gets redundant.

How can new stories be redundant? If you don't like news maxxy, then just isolate yourself in a closet somewhere far from a computer, radio, and/or TV.

I figured we all need a little cheering up in the Politics forum, therefore, I posted this up. It kinda makes fun of the god and the bible so I hope no one is offended.

This is just absolutely hilarious whether you like Obama or not, it is a must see. Enjoy.

Obama the Messiah of Generation Narcissism
By Kathleen Parker

WASHINGTON -- Much has been made of the religious tenor of Barack Obama's presidential campaign.

Reports of women weeping and swooning -- even of an audience applauding when The One cleared his proboscis (blew his nose for you mortals) -- have become frequent events in the heavenly realm of Obi-Wan Obama.

His rhetoric, meanwhile, drips with hints of resurrection, redemption and second comings. "We are the ones we've been waiting for," he said on Super Tuesday night. And his people were glad.

Actually, they were hysterical, the word that best describes what surrounds this young savior and that may be more apt than we imagine. The word is derived from the Greek hystera, or womb. The ancient Greeks considered hysteria a psychoneurosis peculiar to women caused by disturbances of the uterus.

Well, you don't see any men fainting in Obi's presence.

Barack Obama has many appealing qualities, not least his own reluctance to be swaddled in purple. Nothing quite says, "I'm only human" like whipping out a hankie and blowing one's nose in front of 17,000 admirers. The audience's applause was reportedly awkward, as if the crowd was both approving of anything their savior did, but a little disappointed at this rather ungodly behavior.

So what is the source of this infatuation with Obama? How to explain the hysteria? The religious fervor? The devotion? The weeping and fainting and utter euphoria surrounding a candidate who had the audacity to run for leader of the free world on a platform of mere hope?

If anthropologists made predictions the way meteorologists do, they might have anticipated Obama's astronomical rise to supernova status in 2008 of the Common Era. Consider the cultural coordinates, and Obama's intersection with history becomes almost inevitable.

To play weatherman for a moment, he is a perfect storm of the culture of narcissism, the cult of celebrity, and a secular society in which fathers (both the holy and the secular) have been increasingly marginalized from the lives of a generation of young Americans.

All of these trends have been gaining momentum the past few decades. Social critic Christopher Lasch named the culture of narcissism a generation ago and cited addiction to celebrity as one of the disease's symptoms -- all tied to the decline of the family.

That culture has merely become more exaggerated as spiritual alienation and fatherlessness have collided with technology (YouTube, Facebook, MySpace, etc.) that enables the self-absorption of the narcissistic personality.

Grown-ups with decades under their double chins may have a variety of reasons for supporting Obama, but the youth who pack convention halls and stadiums as if for a rock concert constitute a tipping point of another order.

One of Obama's TV ads, set to rock 'n' roll, has a Woodstock feel to it. Text alternating with crowd scenes reads: "We Can Change The World" and "We Can Save The Planet."

Those are some kind of campaign promises. The kind no mortal could possibly keep, but never mind. Obi-Wan Obama is about hope -- and hope, he'll tell you, knows no limits.

It is thus no surprise that the young are enamored of Obama. He's a rock star. A telegenic, ultra-bright redeemer fluent in the planetary language of a cosmic generation. The force is with him.

But underpinning that popularity is something that transcends mere policy or politics. It is hunger, and that hunger is clearly spiritual. Human beings seem to have a yearning for the transcendent -- hence thousands of years of religion -- but we have lately shied away from traditional approaches and old gods.

Thus, in post-Judeo-Christian America, the sports club is the new church. Global warming is the new religion. Vegetarianism is the new sacrament. Hooking up, the new prayer. Talk therapy, the new witnessing. Tattooing and piercing, the new sacred symbols and rituals.

And apparently, Barack Obama is the new messiah.

Here's how a 20-year-old woman in Seattle described that Obama feeling: "When he was talking about hope, it actually almost made me cry. Like it really made sense, like, for the first, like, whoa ... "

This New Age glossolalia may be more sonorous than the guttural emanations from the revival tent, but the emotion is the same. It's all religion by any other name.

Whatever the Church of Obama promises, we should not mistake this movement for a renaissance of reason. It is more like, well, like whoa.

Obama: Messiah?
Written by Gregory A. Hession, J.D.
Thursday, 02 October 2008 05:33

Obama at PodiumDemocratic presidential candidate Barack Obama sells himself as being the one who will "change" the country's direction and improve our lives. But does reality match rhetoric?

Barack Obama aspires to run the largest enterprise on the face of the Earth — the U.S. government. From the beginning of his campaign for president, he deliberately positioned himself as a messianic figure, transcending race, and above petty partisanship on issues. The Obama campaign adopted the same mass-manipulation technique — swooning crowds chanting "yes we can" — that worked so well for his friend Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick during Patrick's 2006 gubernatorial campaign.

The strategy has largely been successful. TV personality Oprah Winfrey has called him "a politician who has an ear for eloquence and a tongue dipped in unvarnished truth." MSNBC commentator Chris Matthews, reacting like a fainting teenage girl seeing the Beatles for the first time, told his audience: "This is bigger than Kennedy.... This is the New Testament. I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don't have that too often. No, seriously. It's a dramatic event." Magazines from Time and Newsweek to Wired to Der Spiegel have featured worshipful cover stories full of similar encomiums. There's even a website — http://obamamessiah.blogspot.com/ — proposing the possibility that Obama is a divinity. No kidding!

This attempt to foster a transcendent aura around the candidate is not an accident. It is a deliberate decision by his campaign strategist, David Axelrod, to make the campaign about image and not issues. He knew that historically candidates who openly advocated high taxes and big government did not do well. Instead, an image was projected, and the "image," it was hoped, would take hold in people's minds as reality. Hence, photographs are shown with light swirling around the Great Man, and Obama's speeches attempt to sidestep taking positions on controversial matters. Recall his response to the question by Rick Warren at the Saddleback Church forum about when life begins: "That's above my pay grade." If he had expressed his true belief advocating abortion and infanticide, the mostly Christian audience would have recoiled.

Nothing has popped the pretension around the Obama campaign rhetoric more effectively than a satirical YouTube ad called "The One," produced by the McCain campaign, which is quite possibly the best political spot of our era. It links together snippets of Obama's self-aggrandizing speeches, leaving no doubt about his unconstrained ego and ambition.

The ad starts with a deep-voiced announcer saying: "In 2008, it should be known that the world will be blessed. They shall call him ... 'The One.'" Then follows a series of film clips of Obama speechifying about his miraculous abilities, starting with his brag that he will bring about "a nation healed, a world repaired." His oft-repeated mantra appears: "We are the ones we have been waiting for," delivered in the "imperial we." Obama himself actually says: "A light will shine down from somewhere. It will light upon you. You will experience an epiphany, and you will say to yourself: I have to vote for Barack." Then we see him in front of a maniacally cheering crowd, modestly saying: "This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and the planet began to heal." Suddenly, in a clip from The Ten Commandments, Charlton Heston as Moses appears, holding his staff aloft, crying, "Behold his mighty hand," as the Red Sea miraculously parts. The implication is that, yes, Barack does control the wind, the waves, and the sea. Devastating is too mild a word for it.

His Uncontested Positions

Obama uses "change" and "hope" liberally in his speeches, without any real specifics or context. One may reasonably ask: "Yes, we can — what? Change what? Hope in what?" He has not been forthcoming so far with answers to those questions, but where he sits on the issues is abundantly clear.

National Journal, a Washington-based non-partisan political magazine, rates legislators on their voting records. Their rating for 2007 places Obama as the single most liberal U.S. senator, as compared to his previous positions at 16th and 10th most liberal in his first two years in the Senate. His running mate Joseph Biden is rated as the third most liberal Senator for 2007. Neither Obama nor Biden have disputed that analysis.

What does it mean to be "liberal"? Obama is on record as supporting high progressive taxation, re-institution of the confiscatory death tax and capital gains taxes, and growth of government into virtually every area of family and community life. He favors government housing, government schools, government control of the money supply and credit, and expansion of government-sponsored trade unions.

On the issue of taxation, Obama has asserted that he wants a middle-class tax cut, and will only raise taxes on "the rich." However, on June 12, 2008, Obama voted to raise income taxes from 25 percent to 28 percent for individuals with gross incomes over $32,000. I guess that is the new definition of "rich." The National Taxpayers Union gave him a six-percent rating, meaning that he voted against taxpayers almost all of the time according to this group. He has also promised to raise Social Security taxes on those earning over $102,000, and to raise the capital gains tax from 15 percent to 20 percent. Along with that, the National Taxpayers Union calculates that Obama has proposed federal spending increases of over $300 billion.

Regarding his adherence to constitutional principles in general, Obama has scored a dismal 13 percent for the current Congress (to date) in this magazine's "Freedom Index," a congressional scorecard based on the Constitution. Biden's "Freedom Index" score for the current Congress (to date) is a mere 19 percent.

Obama favors radical environmental policies that intrude on property rights, government funding for many facets of the economy such as trendy "green" industries, and complete control of trade. He wants to outright nationalize key segments of the economy, such as healthcare, and regulate most others with stultifying controls, according to a multitude of "plans" set out on his campaign website.

Obama's promises often contradict each other. For instance, he claims that he is going to create jobs in this country through revamping and revitalizing the energy industry. But his focus on "green energy" will likely instead drive companies overseas, owing to the high cost of green energy. With wind power, the energy input required to create a ton of steel, according to the American Wind Energy Association, costs $29.52 (without the government subsidy), and with solar power, per Scientific American, $36.00. With nuclear power — which apparently isn't considered sufficiently green — the cost is $7.74, including fuel, depreciation, waste fuel storage, and eventual decommissioning. Moreover, the high taxes he seeks will surely send companies and jobs fleeing, and his projected large amounts of government growth in spending will require that the country borrow or print money to pay for the outlays, meaning a lessening of the worth of the dollar and more burdens for the poor and middle class.

Obama's actions often don't live up to the rhetoric, even in areas that are politically correct. While decrying "pay inequity" between the sexes, the women on his campaign staff earn just 83 cents for every dollar the men make. His children go to private schools, rather than to the government schools he advocates for the rest of us. "We" cannot be cynical about America, but his longtime pastor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, can curse America. Even on the politically correct issue of loathing big tobacco: he smokes, mostly secretly.

On other issues, however, his stance is firm. On abortion, Obama has stood strongly, not just for abortion through time of birth, but for infanticide after birth when abortion fails to kill the baby. He invoked his own little girls by saying, "If they make a mistake [and get pregnant], I don't want them punished with a baby." This smacks not only of advocating "choice," but of fanaticism.

His running mate's position on abortion is equally immovable. Senator Biden recently told Tom Brokaw that it is his "religiously based view" that human life begins at conception, yet he will not "impose that judgment on everyone else" because it would be "inappropriate in a pluralistic society." Yet, when have either Biden or Obama ever been reluctant to impose their judgment on everyone else via legislation, except for this one issue?

Obama does not want to protect the right of everyday Americans to bear arms, even in light of the recent Supreme Court case upholding that right. While in the Illinois Senate, he voted against a bill to allow homeowners the right to use a gun in self-defense in the case of home invasion, and voted to uphold the governor's veto of that bill. He even wants to ban the manufacture and sale of handguns. Wayne LaPierre of the National Rifle Association was not engaging in hyperbole when he commented that "Barack Obama is not for the right to keep and bear arms. He is out to destroy it."

Obama knows how he wants you to live your life, and he is going to make sure that you listen. His wife, Michelle, summed up his view of government with astonishing candor: "Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your division. That you come out of isolation. That you move out of your comfort zone. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual — uninvolved, uninformed." She believes that "our souls are broken in this nation."

And frankly, Obama looks with disdain at anyone who disagrees with him. What he actually believes about ordinary citizens was revealed in a candid moment before a group of San Francisco partisans, when he said: "So it's not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

This conceit and condescension was reinforced recently when he said, "The one thing that I want to insist on is that, as I travel around the country, the American people are a decent people. Now they get confused sometimes. You know, they listen to the wrong talk radio shows or watch the wrong TV network, but they're basically decent, they're basically sound."

The implication of these statements is unsettling: we may be decent folk, but we aren't very bright and are confused because we listen to talk radio, and are thus reduced to bitterly clinging to our guns and religion. Although, with Obama's guiding light, we can (and verily must at his unyielding command) move out of our uninvolved, uninformed comfortable lives, heal our broken souls, and become bright hopeful creatures once again.

Past Projecting Future

Several books have been published recently which purport to investigate Obama's past, his legislative record, his associations, and his core convictions. They have uncovered many alarming facts. One such book, Jerome Corsi's The Obama Nation: Leftist Policies and the Cult of Personality, was so devastating that the Obama campaign felt compelled to issue a 40-page rebuttal entitled Unfit for Publication. (That title is a play on Corsi's previous book published during the last presidential campaign, called Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry.) The rebuttal, however, failed to disprove the key information in Corsi's book (see our review on page 31).

Obama has also written about himself. It is clear from Obama's autobiographical tome Dreams From My Father that he has struggled from his youth to come to grips with his racial identity, and with being abandoned by his mother, his father, and his stepfather. Dreams, as we will call the book, is dedicated to his finding meaning in government service, but even more to the search and eventual acceptance of his African heritage as his primary identity.

His father, Barack Obama, Sr., was the son of a reasonably well-off Kenyan tribesman of Kenya's second largest tribal group, the Luo. Owing to some help from an influential politician, Barack, Sr. was able to go to Harvard University and then obtain a substantial position with the Kenyan government, where he worked as a socialist economist. Barack, Sr. met young Barack's mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, in Hawaii, where they conceived Barack, Jr. and then married before his birth. Barack, Sr. left the family when the child was two years old, and only returned for one visit before he died in an alcohol-related car accident in Kenya.

When Barack, Jr. was six, his mother, Stanley (named after her disappointed father, Stanley, who wanted a boy), met and married an Indonesian national named Lolo Soetoro and moved with him to Indonesia for four years, after which she divorced Lolo. Barack returned to live with his white grandparents in Hawaii, Madelyn and Stanley Dunham, who expended much of their earnings to send him to an elite private academy there for his high school years. Despite their kindness, Barack nonetheless insulted his grandmother during the campaign as "a typical white person."

After a stint at Occidental College, he was able to get into Columbia University in New York on an exchange program. Subsequently, after three years in the south side of Chicago doing community organizing, he went to Harvard Law School, where he was president of the prestigious Law Review there.

Much publicity has surrounded his association with his pastor of 20 years at Trinity United Church of Christ, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Wright has sermonized on how whites invented and introduced AIDS to the black community to kill them, that the CIA purposely injected drugs into black neighborhoods, that the 9/11 terrorist attack was a "wake up" for the white community, and how he believes we should say "God d*** America" because its "government has given them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing God Bless America."

Wright's racial and anti-American rants have been widely exposed on YouTube and in print, and the tone and angry delivery while dressed in African garb communicate an overtone of racial animus that the words alone don't convey. Wright is also a close associate of Nation of Islam hyper-racist and anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan, whom even Time magazine has stated "spews racist venom at Jews and all of white America." Farrakhan has preached such bile as: "White people are potential humans — they haven't evolved yet"; "Murder and lying comes easy for white people"; and "The Jews don't like Farrakhan, so they call me Hitler. Well, that's a good name. Hitler was a very great man."

Accordingly, Wright's church presented Farrakhan with an "Empowerment Award," evidence of which is now scrubbed from its website. Wright also visited Libyan strongman Muammar Qaddafi with Farrakhan in 1984. When Wright's racial and anti-American sentiments were exposed, Obama defended Wright, and said he could no more dissociate with him than with his own family. However, when the political pressure intensified, he angrily denounced Wright and left the church.

However, potentially far more telling than Obama's ties to the radical Rev. Wright are his apparent longstanding ties to the even more radical Khalid al-Mansour, who can be seen on YouTube videos spewing incredibly venomous anti-white, anti-Christian, anti-American diatribes. Al-Mansour started out as Donald Warden, a radical black attorney in the far-left Oakland-San Francisco politics of the early 1960s, working closely with the Communist Party, Socialist Workers Party, the Nation of Islam, and the Black Panthers. After converting to Islam, he developed close ties to Arab and Muslim leaders throughout the world, including Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed. Earlier this year, Percy Sutton, a legendary business mogul and black leader in Harlem (who also is avidly pro-Obama) stated in a TV interview that al-Mansour had come to him in 1988 to ask that he write a letter to help Obama gain admittance to Harvard Law School. Sutton also said that al-Mansour was "raising money" for Obama. Sutton says he wrote the letter to Harvard.

Spokesmen for the Obama campaign have denied that Obama knows al-Mansour or has had any contact with him, but Obama himself has not addressed the issue. In an interview with Newsmax reporter Kenneth Timmerman, al-Mansour indicated he had spoken to Obama and told him he would be keeping a low profile to avoid embarrassing Obama. Did al-Mansour help him get into Harvard? Did he help pay for the hefty tuition at Obama's pricey alma maters (Occidental, Columbia, and Harvard). Obama claims he financed his education through student loans, but the loan amounts he cites fall far short. The voting public and the media should be demanding that Obama fully explain his relationship to al-Mansour.

Obama is so intent on proving his race-based credentials that he told a crowd in Selma, Alabama, that he was born because his parents had gotten together in the confluence of the historical civil rights marches in Selma in 1965. One problem: Obama was born in 1961. He also anguishes in Dreams about the profound effect on him of a Life magazine article concerning black persons who were tragically marred in appearance when they used a chemical to turn them white, which they had used out of desperation because of their mistreatment in society due to their color. No such article existed.

However, Obama is willing to play hardball against other black politicians when it benefits him. His mentor, Marxist black Illinois state senator Alice Palmer, named him to be her successor in 1995, and even helped launch his campaign, when she resigned to run in a special election for the U.S. Congress. When Palmer lost the special election, Obama not only stayed in the state senate race but even challenged the signatures that Palmer had gathered on ballot petitions, knocking her off the ballot. He then used the same tactic to remove his other three Democratic rivals and won the race.

The Company He Keeps

Obama's political life may have been acceptable in Illinois, where they play by so-called "Chicago Rules," but the relationships that he has fostered and relied upon to propel him forward in the political arena can gently be deemed reckless.

Residents of Chicago have been treated to extensive investigative newspaper coverage of Tony Rezko, Chicago slumlord, corporate welfare recipient, convicted felon, and Obama fundraiser for many years. Rezko had obtained a total of $100 million from federal, state, and local governments to rehab 30 Chicago slum buildings, most of which are now either boarded up or foreclosed upon. Although Rezko always got paid, his tenants were left in cheaply repaired, vermin-infested apartments, often without heat in the bitter Chicago winter.

Rezko assisted Obama to obtain his $1.6 million Chicago mansion through a complex financing deal. Called Obama's "political godfather" by local media, he raised over $250,000 for Obama's first four political campaigns in Illinois. Rezko is now in prison, the result of 16 felony convictions related to his property deals.

William Ayers and his wife, Bernadette Dohrn, were also instrumental in launching and maintaining Obama's political career. They are former radical "Weather Underground" members who carried out 30 bombings of the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, and police stations in the 1960s and '70s, who have now secured university professorships and a place in polite Chicago society. Ayers explained his goal in the 1970s as "Kill all rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that's where it's really at." His wife, Dohrn, speaking of the murders committed by the Charles Manson family at the time, stated: "Dig it. First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, then they even shoved a fork into a victim's stomach. Wild."

They remain unrepentant. In an August 2001 Chicago Magazine article entitled "No Regrets," Ayers expresses, well, no regrets. In fact, he says he didn't do enough. The article is accompanied by a photograph of him stomping on an American flag.

William Ayers and Bernadette Dohrn hosted Obama's campaign kick-off party for his first state senate race in their home, and Obama has remained close to them ever since. Obama served on the board of two large non-profit foundations for many years with Ayers, the Woods Foundation and the Annenberg Chicago Challenge, among many other connections. So desperate was Obama's campaign manager to dissociate him from these unrepentant radicals that he falsely stated that their connection only involved their school-aged children, even though the Ayers-Dohrn children are adults.

Obama's campaign has funneled over $800,000 to a radical leftist group called the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN. Its de facto goal is to promote the welfare state, finance illegal-immigrant activities, undermine capitalism, and elect politicians such as Obama, using government grants to do so. Although the Obama money was allegedly slated for providing "stage, lighting and sound" to the campaign, its subsidiary, Citizen Services Inc., has been doing get-out-the-vote work for Obama. The group has been implicated in multiple voter-fraud schemes in at least 14 states, for which several of its members have been criminally convicted.

Obama spent three years in the 1980s in the south side of Chicago, primarily organizing churches near a crumbling housing project called Altgeld Gardens. He was hired for the task by a group called the Developing Communities Project, headed by Jerry Kellman, a disciple of Saul Alinsky, the now-deceased socialist Chicago community organizer who literally wrote the book on radical community organizing. Alinsky's 1971 book, entitled Rules for Radicals, was dedicated to "the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer." Apropos to a handbook dedicated to Satan and his kingdom of Hell, Alinsky's manual says that the community organizer is primarily an agitator, who must: "Fan the resentments of the people of a community; fan the latent hostilities of many of the people to the point of overt expression - he must search out controversy and issues.... An organizer must stir up dissatisfaction and discontentment [sic].... He knows that values are relative.... Truth to him is relative and changing."

Alinsky was the admired subject of Hillary Clinton's senior thesis at Wellesley College, and the guiding light (or, as the Washington Post puts it, "the ideological touchstone") of all Obama's organizing efforts. Those efforts did little to make a difference, based on his own telling in Dreams. The housing project continued to decay, the jobs continued to leave the city, and the corruption continued unabated.

The lesson was apparently lost on young Obama, who continues to believe, against all that he saw and experienced for three years, that government can fix what is wrong in society.

Whither Obama?

In his book Obama Nation, Jerome Corsi quotes former Clinton advisor Paul Begala: "We cannot win with eggheads and African-Americans. OK, that is the Dukakis Coalition, which carried ten states and gave us four years of the first George Bush." By that, Begala meant that Obama is finding his strongest support in the black community and among lefty academic and media types.

Obama has carefully positioned himself as a candidate above the confines of past racial categorization, as one who is able to reach out to all segments of society, transcending all that divides us. However, his actions have shown him to be rigid, and intolerant of any dissent from his radical social and economic views, leaving no possibility of compromise or "reaching across the aisle," as McCain routinely does.

Americans like their heroes and messiahs on pedestals, but they better be strong and true. When one is exposed as a phony, he falls hard and fast (case in point: John Edwards). As the truth emerges about Obama, he may be heading for such a fall.

As David Freddoso says in his book, The Case Against Barack Obama: The Unlikely Rise and Unexamined Agenda of the Media's Favorite Candidate, "It's not that Obama is a bad person. It's just that he's like all the rest of them. Not a reformer. Not a Messiah. Just like all the rest of them in Washington. And just like all the other liberals too."

Why would the leader of the Nation of Islam call Obama the messiah if Obama is not a Muslim, and Muslims only think the messiah will be a Muslim? Does anyone care to give any explanations for this?

Nation of Islam adherents believe that God was incarnated on earth as WD Fard, the founder of NOI, in the 1930's. Muslims consider this a very extreme form of heresy and do not consider NOI a form of Islam. Farrakhan pretty much does his own thing and makes up whatever he wants. It's very similar to Christian messiah cults that claim their leader is Christ returned. Of course Fard is dead, but NOI members still think he was God.

Real Shia and Sunni Muslims would of course never claim Obama was the messiah. Some Sunni's don't even believe in a human savior(they think God will do all the work) and Shia's would find it extremely blasphemous to call a self-described Christian the messiah.

This Topic should serve as a reference for all the anti-Obama charges that are circulating.

So the anti-McCain threads should have their own thread but the anti-Obama threads should all be in "one" thread.

How do you figure the Muslim leader would consider him the messiah, yet the shia and sunnis wouldn't? I think logically this would be just the opposite.

Also, this doesn't address why the Muslim leader would consider someone that isn't Muslim to be the messiah.

Edit: reply replicated in this relevant thread: http://www.imminst.o...mp;#entry270249

Farrakhan is no more "the Muslim leader" than David Koresh was "the Christian leader". NOI started in the 1930's and claimed their human leader was God reborn. Shia and Sunni Muslims(who comprise a billion compared to NOI's thousands) consider this extreme blasphemy. They don't consider Farrakhan a real Muslim let alone their leader and have issued a fatwa against him. Anyway, as I said, Shia and Sunnis wouldn't call Obama the messiah because Obama is a Christian. Even if you want to veer into conspiracy theorist territory, Obama calls himself a Christian, and that alone would make it extreme blasphemy for a Muslim to call him the messiah. For a Muslim to call Obama the messiah would be like a Baptist calling a Muslim Christ reborn.

Edit: Farrakhan's reason for this endorsement racial/political not religious. I doubt Farrakhan cares what the Quran says, but he's a black nationalist and he would be happy to see any black man as president.

Is Barack Obama a Muslim wolf in Christian wool?
By Reuven Koret March 27, 2008

The glib handling of criticism of his relationship with the anti-American ("God Damn America!") and anti-Israel ("a dirty word for Negroes") Reverend James Wright may have bought him a little time. But the legacy of dissimulation about his long-concealed identity is about to come crashing down around the ears of Barack Hussein Obama, courtesy of the assembled testimony of his family, friends, classmates and teachers.

Obama's official campaign site has a page titled "Obama has never been a Muslim, and is a committed Christian." The page states, "Obama never prayed in a mosque. He has never been a Muslim, was not raised a Muslim, and is a committed Christian who attends the United Church of Christ."

Yet the accumulated research from primary sources who knew Obama from his childhood indicate that he was a devout Muslim, the son of a devout Muslim, the step-son of a devout Muslim and the grandson and namesake ("Hussein") of a devout Muslim. He was registered in school as a Muslim and demonstrated his ability to chant praise to Allah in impressive Arab-accented tones even as an adult. Just as he has not disavowed his "uncle" Jeremiah, neither has he disavowed his Muslim faith that he was born into, raised with, celebrated and never abandoned. He just covered it over with a thin veneer of his own self-styled "Christianity."

Although as an adult he would register as a Christian, and occasionally attend a Christian Church (but apparently not often enough to listen to the preaching of his pastor, or so he would claim) this was a necessary step for a man who from earliest boyhood has nurtured the precocious ambition to be President of the United States.

He was entered into the Roman Catholic, Franciscus Assisi Primary School, in Jakarta, Indonesia, on January 1, 1968, registered under the name Barry Soetoro, an Indonesian citizen whose religion was listed as Islam. Catholic schools accept non-Catholics worldwide. Non-Catholic students are typically excused from Catholic religious instruction and ceremony, but are expected to study their own faith.

In kindergarten, Senator Obama wrote an essay titled 'I Want to Become President.'"Iis Darmawan, 63, Senator Obama's kindergarten teacher, remembers him as an exceptionally tall and curly haired child who quickly picked up the local language and had sharp math skills. He wrote an essay titled, 'I Want To Become President,' the teacher said." [AP, 1/25/07]

Three years later, in 1971, Obama enrolled in the Besuki Primary School, a government school, as Barry Soetoro, Muslim. In third grade, Senator Obama wrote an essay titled 'I Want To Be a President.' His third grade teacher: Fermina Katarina Sinaga "asked her class to write an essay titled 'My dream: What I want to be in the future.' Senator Obama wrote 'I want to be a President,' she said." [The Los Angeles Times, 3/15/07]

All Indonesian students are required to study religion at school and a young Barry Soetoro, being a Muslim, would have been required to study Islam daily in school.

He would have been taught to read and write Arabic, to recite his prayers properly, to read and recite from the Quran and to study the laws of Islam.

In his autobiography, "Dreams From My Father," Obama mentions studying the Koran and describes the public school as "a Muslim school."

"In the Muslim school, the teacher wrote to tell mother I made faces during Koranic studies."

According to Tine Hahiyary, one of Obama's teachers and the principal from 1971 through 1989, Barry actively took part in the Islamic religious lessons during his time at the school. "I remembered that he had studied "mengaji" (recitation of the Quran)" Tine said.

The author of the Laotze blog writes from Jakarta: "The actual usage of the word 'mengaji' in Indonesian and Malaysian societies means the study of learning to recite the Quran in the Arabic language rather than the native tongue. "Mengagi" is a word and a term that is accorded the highest value and status in the mindset of fundamentalist societies here in Southeast Asia. To put it quite simply, 'mengaji classes' are not something that a non practicing or so-called moderate Muslim family would ever send their child to. To put this in a Christian context, this is something above and beyond simply enrolling your child in Sunday school classes."

"The fact that Obama had attended mengaji classes is well known in Indonesia and has left many there wondering just when Obama is going to come out of the closet."

"As I've stated before, the evidence seems to quite clearly show that both Ann Dunham and her husband Lolo Soetoro Mangunharjo were in fact devout Muslims themselves and they raised their son as such."

The Obama Campaign told the LA Times he wasn't a "practicing Muslim." (3/14/2007). But his official website says: "Obama Has Never Been A Muslim, And Is a Committed Christian" (11/12/2007)

That's not what his friends and classmates have said. Classmate Rony Amiris describes young Barry as enjoying playing football and marbles and of being a very devout Muslim. Amir said, "Barry was previously quite religious in Islam. We previously often asked him to the prayer room close to the house. If he was wearing a sarong, he looked funny," said Rony.

Amiris, now the manager of Bank Mandiri, Jakarta, recently said, "Barry was previously quite religious in Islam. His birth father, Barack Hussein Obama was a Muslim economist from Kenya. Before marrying Ann Dunham, Hussein Obama was married to a woman from Kenya who had seven children. All the relatives of Barry's father were very devout Muslims"

Emirsyah Satar, CEO of Garuda Indonesia, was quoted as saying, "He (Obama) was often in the prayer room wearing a 'sarong', at that time."

"He was quite religious in Islam but only after marrying Michelle, he changed his religion."
So Obama, according to his classmates and friends was a Muslim until the confluence of love and ambition caused him to adopt the cloak of Christianity: to marry Michelle and to run for President of the United States.

In "Dreams," Obama sheds light on his formative years and the political views of his mother, an anthropologist and Islamophile who hated America and subsequently "went native." (It was her mother -- Barry's "other" grandmother who cared for him in his druggie teenage years -- that he would describe as a "typical white person" who was, he said scoldingly, fearful of black men and prone to making stereotypical racial remarks.)

Obama Senior also had three sons by another woman who are all Muslim. Although Obama claims Senior was an atheist, Senior was buried as a Muslim.

Barack Obama's brother Roy opted for Islam over Christianity, as the Senator recounted in his book when describing his 1992 wedding. "The person who made me proudest of all," Obama wrote, "was Roy. Actually, now we call him Abongo, his Luo name, for two years ago he decided to reassert his African heritage. He converted to Islam, and has sworn off pork and tobacco and alcohol."Abongo "argues that the black man must "liberate himself from the poisoning influences of European culture." He urged his younger brother to embrace his African heritage.

In Kenya while he was a Senator, Obama stumped for his cousin, opposition leader Raila Odinga, the son of Senior's sister, a direct first cousin and nephew of Obama's father.
On August 29, 2007, Raila Odinga and Shiekh Abdullah Abdi, chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum of Kenya signed a Memorandum of Understanding in which it pledges the support of Kenyan Moslems for Raila's election. In return, as President of Kenya, Raila agrees ... within 6 months re-write the Constitution of Kenya to recognize Shariah as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran for Muslim declared regions [and] within one year to facilitate the establishment of a Shariah court in every Kenyan divisional headquarters -- everywhere in Kenya, not just in "Muslim declared regions" -- and to popularize Islam, the only true religion ... by ordering every primary school in Kenya in the regions to conduct daily Madrassa classes.

In an interview with the New York Times, published on April 30th, Maya Soetoro-Ng, Obama's younger half sister, told the Times, "My whole family was Muslim, and most of the people I knew were Muslim."

Obama describes his new found "Christian" faith as: (1) Suspicious of dogma (2) Without any monopoly on the truth (3) Nontransferable to others (4) Infused with a big healthy dose of doubt, and (5) Indulgent of and compatible with all other religions.

On February 27th, speaking to Kristof of The New York Times, Barack Hussein Obama said the Muslim call to prayer is "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset."

In an interview with Nicholas Kristof, published in The New York Times, Obama recited the Muslim call to prayer, the Adhan, "with a first-class [Arabic] accent."
The opening lines of the Adhan (Azaan) is the Shahada:

"Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that Muhammad is his prophet...."

According to Islamic scholars, reciting the Shahada, the Muslim declaration of faith, makes one a Muslim. This simple yet profound statement expresses a Muslim's complete acceptance of, and total commitment to, the message of Islam. Obama chanted it with pride and finesse.

An American Expat in Southeast Asia blog, written by an American who has lived in Indonesia for 20 years and has met with both the Taliban and al-Qaeda, contains the following:

"Barack Hussein Obama might have convinced some Americans that he is no longer a Muslim, but so far he has not convinced many in the world's most populous Muslim country who still see him as a Muslim and a crusader for Islam and world peace."

"Barack Hussein Obama's race, his staunch opposition to the war in Iraq, his sympathy to Islam and Muslims worldwide and his Muslim heritage receive the Indonesian media coverage. There is no mention of his apostasy."

"A good example of how some of the Indonesian media is reporting on Obama's religion can be found in the following."

"What I found interesting in the article was the use of the word 'mengaku' when refering to Obama's conversion from Islam to Christianity. The word 'mengaku' in Indonesian means "claimed" and as such leaves the insinuation to the native Indonesian reader being that Obama might actually still be a Muslim.

But this is how Indonesians see Obama, they don't see him as an apostate at all, they see him as a crusader for the cause of Islam."

Obama wants it both ways, has always wanted it both ways. Black and white, Indonesian and American, Muslim and Christian. He loves playing one off the other, using one to hide the other even as the traces of the truth may be assembled to reveal the whole cloth of deception and self-promotion he has been weaving so skillfully since his childhood. No wonder he is a man of change. He IS a changeling, a veritable chameleon, adapting and amending his life story to fit the circumstances.

The charm may have worked once. It still works on some. It won't work forever in the age of the Internet. The fog of ambiguity and dissimulation is dissipated by the harsh, unforgiving and scrutiny of the blogosphere and its unlimited access to historical facts and time-stamped testimony.

Many have been puzzled why Obama could claim not to be familiar with Wright's rants. It turns out the Trinity Church, like many African-American churches, happily accepts believing Muslims within its congregation. And evidently many Muslims have no problems surrounding themselves with an anti-American, anti-Israel preacher who week in and week out wins the amens of his adoring congregation.

On Feb 15/08, Usama K. Dakdok, President of The Straight Way of Grace Ministry called Obama's Church and reported the following conversation: " I then asked the person who answered what I needed to do to join. She told me that I needed to attend two Sunday School classes in a row and then I would walk the aisle. I replied, "That sounds easy. One last question please. If I am Muslim and I believe in the Prophet Mohammed, peace be unto him and I also believe in Jesus, peace be unto him, do I have to give up my Islamic faith to be a member in your church? She answered: "No, we have many Muslim members in our church."

Indeed.

Credit for these reports and revelations -- assembling the statements of those who love and admire Barry Soetoro aka Barack Hussein Obama -- belong primarily to the writers, researchers, and journalists cited in and contributing to the above references. Special hat tip to Ted Belman of Israpundit for putting most of the pieces together. One can be sure that more, much more, is on the way, before the first black muslim president enters the White House. Or not.

Don't get me wrong. I don't have anything against non-radical Muslims that do not believe in terrorism and jihad. I do have a problem with the radical Muslims and anyone else who kills innocent people.

The main point it this; why does Obama deny that he ever was a Muslim? Who is he fooling? If he is lying about this and where he was born, what else may he be lying about? How can the American people trust Obama if he has lied about his religion and his birthplace?

You Decide
