We Americans own a lot to the founding fathers. Some of them were exceptional people. But they didn't have the foresight to plan for
what was going to happen over 200 years in the future. I don't think they'll get offended if we change a few things.
Most Americans would agree that the electoral college for choosing the president should be dropped in favor of popular vote.

By living long enough Ted Stevens attained a lot of power in the senate. Stevens represents 350 thousand people in Alaska, while either
Dianne Feinstein or Barbara Boxer each represent 18 million Californians. Yet, each of these senators has the same weight in the
senate. I understand that senators represent more the states than the people. But still it doesn't seem fair.

Then we have the supreme court to make sure we obey the constitution written a very long time ago. It gives me an uneasy feeling
knowing that important things depend on the ability of Scalia to get inside the mind of Jefferson. Wouldn't it be much better to have a constitution
designed for today's necessities? I'm aware that there will be a fight for whether to put anything about abortion, religion or bearing arms in the
new constitution. But let's have the fight and get it over with.
