My GI tract revolts whenever I attempt to eat any type of protein powder and I don't know why. One suspicion is that, mixed in water (which dilutes stomach acid and accelerates transit), the protein powder passes through the stomach too quickly and is not adequately broken down by HCl and Pepsin. For whatever reason I can only properly digest whole food sources of protein.
Anyone else have this problem?
Trawling the BB fourms it seems quite common and both quantity and volume dependant. I'm sure you have tried a range of brands but perhaps the trend towards easy to mix "instantised" whey doesn't suit you. Personally I'm fine at the 25 gram point (I use Optimum Nutrition) bu tif I up it to 40+ grams (eg post workout) then I sometimes get a GI "issue". Have you tried perhaps mixing it with a banana/bit of ground oatmeal or do you shake rather than blend?
