I wonder if taking zinc supplements will make me feel more manly. Any thoughts?

If you have a zinc deficiency causing low test levels, yes. Otherwise no

thanks, İ think so too. As I have a very stressed personality I think I may have a slight zinc deficiency, I'll finish a bottle of zinc tablets to ensure there is no deficiency.

Zinc supplements significantly deepend my voice... but this effect stops soon after I cease to take them.

I take 60-90 mg per day to help with fatigue.
It really does help, but I need to take it everyday.

Do you feel the difference if you take Zinc ?

Also you need to supplement copper if you take lots of zinc.

From my point of view 60-90 mg is too much. I searched and found solgar's zinc supplement, 22mg per tablet. I think I'll use one a day of that. I have never used zinc before so I don't know if I'll feel any difference.

That point about copper is an important one. Make sure you research the effects zinc has on copper.

It is my understanding that zinc helps boost testosterone levels, so it may help you increase your masculine characteristics (though personally, I don't believe in gender). It is my understanding that 40 to 50 mg zinc a day is ideal for adults.

You don't believe in gender? I think that an important part of your education was left out.

I believe that gender exists, but I don't believe it should exist.

Ok about this gender discussion, I'm not gonna go into that madness ;)

I would not exceed 25mg of zinc daily. I don't use the picolinate form, and don't suggest it. Reversing the deficiency will raise your testosterone, but taking more zinc won't give you more testosterone than the reversal of deficiency initially did. You could make the case for zinc as immune booster, but again, I would go with other nutrients if you want to go beyond 25mg of zinc. High dose vit d3 & vit C, high dose vit A, enough copper, etc.

Here some links about copper:

It's based on a personal eccentric philosophical view point, one that most humans don't share.
