Im now interested to try it after this research...
http://www.virtualme...asp?artid=12755

.... and finding that a Clinical Trial is open for MS patients.
http://clinicaltrial...052...n"&rank=8

I noted the trial is using Taiyo 'Sunphenon EGCg' 95% EGCG <1% Caffeine
Where Can you get this anyone know ?

I have several Autoimmune Conditions..including Sjogren's..so this may help me.

Can we take pure EGCG without side effect on the Liver ?

Cheers

That is an interesting article. You can check out: http://www.taiyointe...oducts_List.asp

I didn't see a listing that showed which products contained Sunphenon, but you could try emailing them for information. I noticed some of their other products are sold by Jarrow, Natrol and others, so perhaps they get their green tea from the same place.

I think your liver would be fine so long as you don't take a super large dose, and you don't have a liver problem to begin with.

I recently have been told I may have Hashimoto's, which is an autoimmune disease against the thyroid. I'm curious now if EGCG might help. The fluoride in green tea has scared me off from trying it (fluoride + thyroid disorders = bad), but perhaps a pure extract would be fine.

Personally I like 95% Polyphenol 50% EGCG extracts better just take more if you want more EGCG. You get other beneficial polyphenols so its like two supplements for the price of one...

and they are dirt cheap

100 grams for $9.99
http://www.nutraplan...gcg-100-gm.html

100 grams for $11.99
http://www.bulknutri...products_id=844

You can also get a whole Kilogram of the stuff for about $40 from a truly bulk supplier.

Thanks to all for pointers.....

'Teavigo' looks to be more available

Only question Ive got is...i thought that EGCG was a polyphenol am I right ?

If I am right for 'edward' thanks a good cheaper idea..but I might just go for the EGCG as it's the only polyphenol that has been studied with potential benifits for the issues I have.

If EGCG is a polyphenol I guess one has to be careful not to overdo the intake for the Livers sake.

Going by the Clinical Trial they are trialling up to 800mg of 94% EGCG each day.
