How is this done, i mean, for example, supplements that have a short half life. is there a to turn them in to tablets or what ever and time release them some how? for eg, make a supplement have a sustained release over a period of time.

i wouldnt mind making time release racetam's

I have racked my brains trying to figure out how to do this and have come up with nothing that is practical. This is one of my biggest pet peeves the necessity to re dose stuff throughout the day. Short of making a HPMC goo then drying it to form tablets I doubt if this is going to be doable. Fibers and fats may delay absorption somewhat but in no way are they going to insure a steady release that can be counted on.

That will only slow the entry into the small intestine (delaying the effects not prolonging them in the constant drip fashion of timed released pharmaceuticals), once there the absorption will be a bit slower but not much. Again not a timed release solution

besides re-dosing often, i can't think of anything either

abosrption would depend on the state of the sub, of course if taking as a powder or liquid form they'll hit the fastest, and pills/tablets take longer to "digest". wish there's a good way to combine the best of two worlds, fast acting but slow releasing

Why don't you take a small 000 capsule, fill it up, put it into a 00 capsule, fill that up too, and put that into a 0 capsule? How fast does gelantine dissolve? What about the vegetarian stuff?

Why don't you mix the powder with water+gelantine, warm it up and let it harden, then cap it? :)

Stick a gel cap in your mouth and find out, it takes about a minute for me.

It would be nice to find a solution.

Well, then it's at least one minute time released. ;-) jk

Perhaps someone stumbles across an easy to implement idea at www.pharmweb.net or something. Two things I have found are:

I think chitosan is an interesting substance for that......
