But UCLA immunologist Rita Effros also published a study last month on immune cells that were drawn from people with HIV. The cells were treated in the lab with a telomerase activator from Geron Corp. "Sure enough, they killed viruses better, divided longer and acted more youthful," Effros says. It's not just people with HIV who stand to benefit. "Many diseases of aging involve a weakened immune system," she says. But because too much telomerase could theoretically boost cancer risks, "it will be a long and difficult job to make sure a telomerase drug is safe," says Blackburn.

But then if you google telomerase, you have "Al Sears, MD" promoting TA-65 on google adwords here in Florida.

1- A telomorase drug is one of many items Geron is working on. I truly give Kudos to Geron.
2- I believe Geron own 75% of TA Sciences now, (correct me if I am wrong on this please).
3- TA Sciences is now licensing TA-65 telomerase activator to a doctor here in Florida who is using it himself. Although he hasn't made his results public like I have...

It certainly appears that Geron has no issues providing a telomerase activator to folks, or licensing a supplement out. I say that it is a supplement, as the FDA does not recognize TA-65 as a drug, as it has no disease claims.

So it's simply a licensed supplement at this time.

I expect Geron's real drug to come out in a few years with the appropriate claims against particular diseases.
