Has anyone heard of the organization mentioned in the subject line and writing below? If so are they any good at testing the quality and purity of Vitamins?

A certain supplement Brand added the following to their website (I added '''''''' marks in place of the brand name below):

Consumers concerned about the quality and purity of vitamins and other dietary supplements can now look for the United States Pharmacopoeia's (USP) new Dietary Supplement Verification Program (DSVP) certification mark on product packaging. The DSVP mark signifies that the supplement has undergone rigorous independent testing and verification from the same public health organization that has been setting medicine and dietary supplement standards since 1820. ''''''''''' is the first participant in the DSVP supplement quality program.

No comments? Is this program the start of U.S. government testing supplements? This could solve problems with metal poisoning that some have experienced would it not?
