My mom recently started taking fish oil, but ran into a problem with fish burps. She started with Nordic Naturals, which gave her a lemony burp, which she wasn't so fond of. She then tried an unflavored fish oil, and got fishier burps, which she really wasn't fond of.
So... what alternatives do people recommend?
I considered suggesting Coromega for her, but then read that it uses sodium benzoate + ascorbic acid in the ingredients, and remembered that article a while back about benzene. So that one doesn't sound so good. I wonder why they continue using sodium benzoate anyway?
I could recommend to her an enteric coated capsule, but she may not like the fact they can be a bit tough (ie hard shell) to swallow. Or I could suggest another flavored variety.
Leading candidates: Minami Marinepa (strawberry flavor), Fisol (enteric coated) or a Meg-3 enteric coated variety, like they sell at Costco.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
