The meetings arent mandatory now, they dont really need to be we figure. The only thing that is is getting two entries in between the weekly breakers. The next breaker hasnt been added yet so you can still get it in and remain on the team. Otherwise we will have to move you to helper for at least the week and then figure out a system for how to reinstate helpers later. Ill put in the next breaker later today to give you and others another opportunity to stay on the team.

Even though I don't have the time to dedicate myself completely to the project, I'm willing to help with what I can; writing sales copy (for free, something I don't usually do), writing persuasive letters, helping you find the best ways to spread the cause, etc.

Can you show an example of stuff youve written? We should see if we can get you in on the "press release" idea that has been suggested if we can get that going here soon. You could work with the project as little or as much as you wanted. We are going to be meeting to discuss it this week, so Ill have an update on it then. You can attend the meeting if you want to. We could also use your help in writing some general templates for the write your representatives matching offer topic. If your interested then let me know.

Hi Brokenportal,

You can find the sample portfolio my clients usually see here: http://www.edpenn.com/portfolio

Another thing that we could do is get a Digg interview with Aubrey de Grey. We could talk to him and see if he is up to it, then talk to Digg representatives and set everything up.

I'll think about a couple of outdoor ideas...

Best,
Ed.

Breaker for week of May 10th to May 16th. Add at least two additions for the week here before the next breaker.

*Note from the team meeting. We discussed recruiting a little. Once we have a few more members we will do a more comprehensive over view of strategies for recruiting at a team meeting. We also discussed structuring the whole team with numbers which we will be doing this week.

Thanks Ed, Ill think about this stuff and look through it some more and we see what kinds of things we could work together on. Ill also let the directors and other teams know about things you may be able to help with. Please meet us at our next team meeting if you can, and Ill get back to you in pm in the mean time if I have ideas. I think of course that we will be able to work you in in many ways for you to consider. The meeting schedule is here: imminst.org/meetings. Its on saturdays. Thanks a million for your offer. The more people we can get to help, the more progress we can make, but best of all, the more people you can help inspire to also get involved.

I was at graduation for my brother so I wasnt at this weeks meeting, but you can all surely meet if you want with out me. We will be looking for a new team leader pretty soon so that will be a good opportunity for somebody to step up into these small jobs if they want. Once the structure is really hitting on all cylinders then Im going to move on to another project and leave this with all the great dedicated members on this team.

The following is some info from the team wiki that Im storing here as I clean it up and continue to structure it a bit:

Ive finished with the restructuring from this week. The teams are all numbered now. Be sure to follow the format and read the rules page, and the notes next to each section.

Articles, short stories and creative writing has now been merged with the blog section. They are all about the same thing, listing links to things that arent directly for indefinite life extension so we can go down the list and comment on them in order to inform them and see if we can meme them in to the indefinite healthy life extension end of things.

Breaker for week of May 17th to May 23rd. Add at least two additions for the week here before the next breaker.

*Note: We restructured the team with numbers. Be sure to continue numbering your additions. This will help us reference them amongst other things. To find posts of a similar web site, "search on this page" for them with the search function in your browser. Digg has sections such as Gavrilovs blogs that all need to be put in. If you want to volunteer to put in the rest of them then let us know. We have contacted a couple of recruits. Things are moving along well. Thanks a million to the current team members Bogger and CalebZ.

Breaker for week of May 24th to May 30th. Add at least two additions for the week here before the next breaker.

*Note: Nobody met this week except for bogger. I was away on a fishing trip with my family. Thanks for work here bogger. This team will grow, your work is and will become noticed as we go. You definently inspire more people to get involved. Whether you can notice or not, it is definently true and a much needed. This is not how far the road goes. Imminst and many members are constantly working on producing more and more projects, teams, team leaders, structure, incentive, etc.. This is a good start for you in reaching new levels in projects on down the road. You may become a team leader, perhaps be elected as chair or treasurer, director, etc..

45 http://digg.com/heal...he_Implications Gregory Stock on aging. Really good vid. Don't miss it.

46 http://digg.com/heal...troy_Lipofuscin Lipofuscin accumulates in the lysosomes of aging post-mitotic cells and progenitor cells, interfering with autophagy. Thus it has been proposed that the removal of this indigestible aging pigment may be a highly effective rejuvenation therapy.

Breaker was added too soon, I could not add these two yesterday because of site maintenance.

I was thinking a good project for the Internetworking team would be to compile a list of places where we can promote the laser research funding drive. When the time comes, we can then hit all the sites en masse, or a couple each day. So start thinking of how we can promote it.

I know we can certainly try to digg it. We can twine it and twitter it as well. Add it to our delicious links, reddit, stumble upon, etc...

Social networking sites. Facebook, myspace, others?

We also know many "friendly" sites and bloggers. Keep them in mind, or help build a list in this forum or here (for members).

Methuslah Foundation
SENSF (I am already in discussion with them)

b0gger,

You need to learn how to make good headlines. Your headlines didn't even make ME want to digg them up. They're too scientific and not at all 'easy to read'. And use the sub-headlines to make them click the headline even more. Not to give an introduction to the article (unless it's a story). You must also keep in mind when creating headlines the right appeal, which is: You can live forever.

The best headlines for our cause are along the lines of:
'New Discovery Will Help You Live Forever'
'Why and How You May Live Forever'
'At Last a Way You Can Live Forever'
'Now We Are Closer To Living Forever'
'Who Else Wants To Live Forever?'

And so on... But because you want to give them the article, I would embed this in the message. As an example, check out how I fixed your headline below.

Yours:
Unfocused Pulsed Lasers Selectively Destroy Lipofuscin watch!

Ophthalmology research has shown that pulsed lasers selectively destroy aged Retinal Pigment Epithelial (RPE) cells that are loaded with lipofuscin, allowing new lipofuscin-free cells to repopulate the RPE, effectively rejuvenating the tissue.

Better:
New Laser Technique Can Potentially Cure Blindness, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, and More!

New discovery utilizes lasers to destroy old cells in the eye and might be a cure for diseases where a pigment that comes from the 'wear-and-tear' of our metabolism accumulates... It can be used to treat several diseases, including...

What did I do there? I explained some diseases that lipofuscin may help aggravate (wikipedia) or cause, and in the end I left them hanging about the diseases that might be cured.
But you should also link to a better article on the subject, that video is too deep and people don't want that.

Read this: http://www.makepeace...EVENT_SMALL.pdf

It may help you help us :|w

Best,
Ed.
