These are lyrics to a song I like, by Queen. [thumb]

"WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER"
There's no time for us.
There's no place for us.
What is this thing that fills our dreams,
Yet slips away from us?

Who wants to live forever?
Who wants to live forever?
There's no chance for us.
It's all decided for us.
This world has only one sweet moment
Set aside for us.

Who wants to live forever?
Who dares to love forever?
When love must die.

But touch my tears with your lips,
Touch my world with your fingertips.
And we can have forever,
And we can have forever.
Forever is our today.
Who wants to live forever?
Who wants to live forever?
Forever is our today.
Who waits forever anyway?

Another song by them is, Princes of the Universe

"PRINCES OF THE UNIVERSE" (Queen, "A Kind of Magic")
Here we are, born to be kings,
We're the princes of the universe.
Here we belong, fighting to survive
In a world with the darkest powers.
And here we are, we're the princes of the universe
Here we belong, fighting for survival
We've come to be the rulers of your world.
I am immortal, I have inside me blood of kings.
I have no rival, no man can be my equal
Take me to the future of your world.
Born to be kings, princes of the universe
Fighting and free, got your world in my hand
I'm here for your love and I'll make my stand
We were born to be princes of the universe.
No man could understand. My power is in your hand
Ooh, ooh, ooh, people talk about you.
People say you've had your day.
I'm a man that will go far.
Fly the moon and reach for the stars
With my sword and head held high
Got to pass the test first time-yeah
I know that people talk about me. I hear it every day.
But I can prove you wrong cos I'm right first time.
Yeah yeah alright watch this man fly, bring on the girls
Here we are. Born to be kings,
We're the princes of the universe.
Here we belong. Born to be kings,
Princes of the universe. Fighting and free
Got the world in my hands
I'm here for your love and I'll make my stand.
We were born to be princes of the universe.

I want to guide anyone who like this song to a version from Sarah Brightman on her album Timeless. It is a nice opera like version. Very beautiful.

Here is all the lyrics from the album translated: http://www.xs4all.nl...sb/sb4-eng.html
I was unable to find an online download shop, but you can buy and listen to the album here:

Has anyone here ever listened to Our Lady Peace's "The Age of Spiritual Machines" album? Good stuff.

~~~~ Bob Dylan
May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
~~~Bob Dylan

and now the older dylan:

Not Dark Yet

Shadows are falling and I've been here all day
It's too hot to sleep time is running away
Feel like my soul has turned into steel
I've still got the scars that the sun didn't heal
There's not even room enough to be anywhere
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there

Well my sense of humanity has gone down the drain
Behind every beautiful thing there's been some kind of pain
She wrote me a letter and she wrote it so kind
She put down in writing what was in her mind
I just don't see why I should even care
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there

Well, I've been to London and I've been to gay Paree
I've followed the river and I got to the sea
I've been down on the bottom of a world full of lies
I ain't looking for nothing in anyone's eyes
Sometimes my burden seems more than I can bear
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there

I was born here and I'll die here against my will
I know it looks like I'm moving, but I'm standing still
Every nerve in my body is so vacant and numb
I can't even remember what it was I came here to get away from
Don't even hear a murmur of a prayer
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there.

Everyone should go see Dylan in concert. If you don't know the songs already, you won't have a clue what he's saying. But his instrument hopping is quite fun.

I grew up on the music of Queen and I love Who Wants To Live Forever. :smile: I often sing it to my mother when I'm off to do something that she considers a touch reckless. I don't know those Dylan songs but my Dad likes his stuff so maybe I should see if he has them lying about.

I have a 'modern' dance version of the song on one of my driving CD's, my kids love it--whenever 'Who wants to live forever' is asked, we respond 'we do!' ;)
