What are these people getting for their money?

http://latimesblogs....fornia-tax.html

8.5% sales tax!

The next-highest tax rate, on taxable income of more than $94,110 for a married couple filing jointly, will rise to 9.55% from 9.3%. For singles, the threshold for the new 9.55% tax rate is $47,055.

Never moving out there. Besides, too hard to get a concealed carry license too.

That's a hell of a good question. Smog, Traffic, expensive gas, expensive houses (but less than they used to be!) Not enough water...
On the plus side, much of CA is within an hour's drive of either skiing or surfing. Warm in the winter, dry in the summer. Good Mexican food.

Born here. Lived in So. Cal for 23 years, and am currently going to school up in Nor. Cal.

I love it here. Don't plan on leaving either :]
