Dopamine enhancing supps.. dlpa, mucuna, tyrosine, deprenyl etc. I notice that I get incredible results initially but with repeated or regular dosing I tend to get negative effects fairly quickly which I'm guessing is the increased dopamine affecting my serotonin levels. Sometimes within the same day. Even with lower/minimal doses. However I also gain great benefit from the increased dopamine. Want to keep using.

My problem is I don't respond well and feel worse on serotonin enhancers such as 5htp or tryptophan.

How or what could I take thats not a direct serotonin enhancer to take that slight edge off dopamine enhancing supps - lets focus on mucuna. I'm thinking maybe the answer lies in taurine - or mabye an adaptogen - ashwaghandha or something. Or is this something that wears off after the body gets used to the dopamine supp?

Any opinions or experiences would be welcome. Just enough of something to help deal with the bad effects of increased dopamine. How did you solve this problem?

Try about 1.5 grams of Taurine at bed or 500mg of taurine in the morning. The taurine should slow down nerve firing enough to keep side effects way but not enough to keep the benefits of dopamine away.

I'll give that a shot - I have caffeine approx every 5hrs during the day - do you think I'd have to redose the taurine at any point during the day? Great advice - thanks.

It's just due to tolerance. It's nothing to do with serotonin. Some magnesium will help a bit but it's not any magic cure, that's just how stims and dopaminergics are.
