i get an immediate burning in my throat right upon ingesting 100mg r-ALA on an empty stomach, alongside 500mg ALCAR. i've never had this problem with just the ALCAR. is okay to take the ALCAR on an empty stomach and then take the r-ALA with food? also how long should i wait to take Nardil after the ALA? i'm also taking Creatine after working out and being pretty careful in trying to space all these things out by an hour or two, though it can be tricky to maintain. is it the end of the world taking Creatine shortly after Nardil? or Nardil half an hour after ALA?

I can't really comment on the spacing of your supplements and meds, but ALA (in caps) definitely gives my heartburn if I don't thoroughly wash it down my esophagus with water. Perhaps drinking more water when taking it might help.

I had to stop taking r-ala mixed in water for this reason, even though it is the cheapest and most effective way to use it. Boo. Taking it in capsules with sufficient water is fine though.

hey - i've tried using more water to wash it down; i'm still getting a little reflux, though less than before. i noticed that the capsules i'm taking are actually 200mg, not 100mg. should i perhaps try a lower dose? otherwise is there another antioxidant i could supplement with instead of ALA?

ALA definitely causes some kind of issue with the stomach.

I've never had any problems taking Alpha Lipoic Acid with or without food.

The brands I've taken are Now Foods, Healthy Origins, Olympian Labs.
