I was thinking more along the lines of retractable wings.
I'd think wings would be kind of bulky. I'd imagine even nanoengineered wings wouldn't be much better than bird wings. Could you imagine walking around like a bird?

How big they would have to be would depend on how heavy the body as a whole was. And even if they were large, it might be possible to make them fold up in convenient ways.

So your gonna walk around with a wing backpack? Alas, to be immortal with an indestructible body which craps out odorless colorless sanitary waste wafers, but still suffer the indignity of having to carry around luggage. What a cruel universe we live in.
