So I have been taking adderall to stay up late and pump out schoolwork that is not intrinsically motivating for about 2 months. I took only two days off and when I took some yesterday (10 mg) I was blasted. Same today. Previously, I would take 10mg and barely feel it.

The only thing I have done different is stayed on NAC (which has felt safe even at high doses-3600mg a day) and took some acid two days ago. I don't recommend anyone take street acid because you never know what you are getting (and it could like make psychological problems come to the surface).

I think these two things combined did the trick. It wasn't a great experience, because I was off of adderall so I felt really lethargic while on it which led to lots of weird mental effects.

Regardless, I figured I would inform you guys how it worked out. The effects may not be permament, but as of right now, I feel like I did the first time I took this stuff.

If you take two days off, it will dramatically reduce tolerance. It's possible that lsd could sensitive you, but if so I'd not be surprised if it were an individual thing or even use to use. Use to use the effect of adderall varies a lot. The only thing to dramatically reduce tolerance so far is memantine, but unfortunately it makes me have a bad comedown sometimes as well which I never had before.

See the problem with talking about this experience is the risk that someone would go out and try it. I do not recommend it to anyone. As you said, it could be the holiday. I don't know. I have seen some dramatic effects from a few friends (one claimed that he no longer craved porn after one experience with acid). The biggest problem is that I dont even know if it was really acid. I can only assume that it was, but I haven't taken it too many times and it felt a little different than those other times. It was a long rough night for me and most people would go crazy if they were not so experienced with it. The NAC really does help too. I have taken a few days off before and dont remember such a dramatic sensitization. I do recall that lsd works on dopamine receptors as well as serotonin. Anyhow, I don't think its worth another shot just because the psychological effects are so unpredictable. Just figured I would mention it. Meditation will have to suffice for me, atleast it is somewhat stable.

LSD had a very profound effect on the person I am today; a year ago I took two hits and picked up a buddy's toy djembe (African drum) and started playing. The following day, I went out and bought myself a full-sized one and have been playing since. 6 months ago, I did the same and picked up a guitar - the following day I went out and bought one. I don't doubt anyone's LSD stories, as the effects it has can very so drastically from person to person.

could be due to change in 5ht2 receptors which influence dopamine neurones.

It's definitely the acid.. LSD makes everything more pronounced and heightens the effect of everything else you consume. Its probably due to factors like

change in 5ht2 receptors which influence dopamine neurones.

among many...

I think even coffee will seem "stronger" if you drink it within a few days after an acid trip.
