Hi! I hope this isn't too divergent, in terms of what this section of the forum was intended for. It just occurred to me that there's no general thread like this, examining why each of us has come here and what we're working towards.

Some of us are trying to overcome imbalances, caused naturally or by overzealous interference - or self-inflicted injury. Others of us are just fine and dandy and just want to kick things up a notch. And so on and so on.

I'm just curious - what is your ideal state of mind, and intellectual process, and type of personality? What are you reaching out for through the use of nootropics? What do you feel is deficient in your current state?

I didn't start this thread with an intention to be autobiographical, but I would be remiss if I didn't make the first contribution to the subject of a thread I had started. And so...

I basically just want to feel emotionally charged, with a lucidity to make the most of it. I so often get distracted, side-tracked, or weighed-down into oblivion by doubt in myself - I just want to transplant into my neuronal functions the sparks of energy necessary to propel me onwards, get me moving steadily on in life.

Again, sorry if this thread is a bit odd - but I'm sincerely curious about what's brought each of us here.

Gain a edge over my peers without reducing my lifespan

Memorize names. Ability to intensely focus on important projects. Eliminate social anxiety. Improve public speaking ability (fluidity).

Better focus, greater academic achievements, prevent (by any means) burning out (overachiever), alleviate stress and sleep issues

Achieving high quality intellectual output (from conversations to academic papers) without the subjective feeling of hard work (i.e. thinking hard and deep); I want things just to pop up out of my unconscious mental processes, and to surprise my conscious self with their relevance and significance. This kind of stuff wasn't that rare for me about a decade ago, in my very early twenties. In short, effortless superiority.

FOCUS and stabilty so i can achieve all the potentials i have. i am somebody who can function better on nootropics, stimulants. they give me some direction instead of self destructing. sad but true. turned to nootropics as stimulants made me manic, burnout and crash eventually. one thing i learnt that makes a impact is take them everyday and not hit and miss.

I never really hoped to achieve anything, just wanted to be a human lab rat testing out all these fun new brands. And I realized that nootropics have their benefits, and perhaps even helped me out in the long run.

Nowadays I'd do a week or so of cerebrolysine, but not really anything else.

Well, without CE'rs you're at the mercy of your genetics and your diet - which are both probably flawed anyways - to help you make both critical and mundane decisions in life. Those decisions can prove extremely important at times, and to increase the probability that those decisions are more well thought-out than no outside supplementation, you can invest in cognitive enhancers - as you know. Some work better than others as you probably already realize, and it probably would do the world a better deed if more people implemented CE'ers into their daily regimen.

I hope to achieve a culture that implements healthy CE'ers into their bodies. I'm doing my part - and my friends have made their own little supplement stacks - so my effect is something at least.

I would like to be able to perform better in iq tests, as being able to find patterns or problem solve is much more valuable than remembering something you where told or saw.

I have actually experienced my 'ideal' state of mind before so I know exactly what I want to achieve with regards to my nootropic use. I will not describe how exactly this state was achieved, suffice to say there were a large amount of variables involved, Phenibut being one of them.

This state of mind was characterised by an extreme clarity of thought, and a far greater sense of scale in relation to my overall awareness. Just knowing I can achieve this state of mind, with no illicit substances involved, has been a massive motivator for me in my pursuit of that intellectual ideal.

My entire adult life I have suffered with dysthymia and chronic fatigue, which have greatly affected my intellectual abilities. It feels as if my mind is being limited by some deficit, maybe neurotransmitter related, maybe metabolic or circulatory, I'm not sure. But what I do know is that if I can rectify this deficit then I can go on to reach my full potential, as I have so fleetingly in the past.

This.

Some days I would just wake up and feel great all day, not really for any particular reason. Anxiety would be softened, intellectual abilities would be potentiated, and just all around I would feel "in the zone." But these days came maybe once every few months if I was lucky. Pramiracetam kind of takes me back there, every day, without any downsides at all. I feel pretty spoiled now, to be honest, but life is not a game and if I can "cheat it" by knowing the little intricacies here and there to get the best out of it, then damn right I will.

I'm taking Aniracetam (today is my 2nd day on it)
gingko 60 mg a few days a week
Pantethine (NSI Pantesin brand which is 55% pantethine) 900 mg 2-3 days a week
Nicotine (a 1/8th sliver of a 21 mg patch)
Green tea (Lipton brand w/ Lemon & Ginseng in it)
Choline (from eggs and DMAE)
Ashwagandha (this stuff kicks butt) 450 mg a few days a week
Melatonin at night -- 3 mg
ALCAR mg and ALA mg in the morning on an empty stomach with coffee (lots of cream , 2 sweet n' low) wait
till noon to eat.

That about does it. I'm planning to add Galantamine soon.
