As a means of potentially raising my gluthianone, I am looking into immunocal. I am told however it is simply nothing more than hydrolyzed whey and was wondering if anyone here has any opinions regarding it? I have considered gluthianone injections, however given the lack of popularity of alternative medicine here in the UK I am unlikely to find a suitable doctor to carry this out.

Buying your whey protein of choice will probably be 5x as cost-effective.

Immunocal is likely just a product that was lobbied hard for approval.

The best whey depends on your reason for taking whey. Whey is a source of BCAA, that's good for bodybuilding. You might take it for the lactoferin. If you use whey for purposes of glutathione supplementation, the place to go is:
www.rimkor7.com/lowcost.php

They try to analyze the problem systematically based on data from an animal study. Evaluating 16 different whey products, they come up with the conclusion that Jarrow unflavored is 5 times more "cost-effective" than Immunocal. Immunocal is generally considered to be the classic whey protein for supplementing glutathione. It even has an entry in the 2009 Physician's Desk Reference. Seems rather odd considering that it is more of a nutraceautical than a pharmaceutical.

I think its a waste of money. I just buy http://www.reflex-nu...aq=whey_protein (Reflex Instant Whey protein). Which gives me about 2.2 KG of protein. I would just focus on getting your protein. Whey protein is absorbed good as well, so will help raise IGF-1 to help repair. There are other things that apparently raise glutathione if I remeber correctly, those are; Broccoli, green tea, turmeric and probably others.

You are very young. It amazes me to see such young people wanting to do things like raise glutathione. I think if you have a good diet, workout regularly, and take care of your emotional well being, you will be in great shape by the time you reach 30 when you may have to worry more about glutathione levels. Unless, you are a triathlete or other type of athlete, I don't think you have to worry about glutiathione. Just drink a good whey protein like Jarrow's and you will be fine.

I would not mess with NAC at this point. If you don't have any health issues, you simply do not need it.

Drink a good affordable whey protein on a regular basis, take a good multivitamin 5 days a week, eat right, stay away from cigarette smoke-first hand and second, don't drink too much, exercise on a regular basis-interval training/weight training/yoga, find what it is that makes you happy and pursue it, and enjoy life as much as possible. Maybe look into taking some supplements that you know are safe and may benefit you in the long run.

Maybe you should check out this..5 top supplements for life extension. it may help you keep things simple until more is known about everything else out there and until you actually need to start taking more action.

Actually that was not a good thread for you, my bad.

Just keep things simple for now. Maybe add some magnesium and vitamin K2 to your multi. Whatever you do, just take really good care of yourself and in 5 years we will know more about what supplements can do for our health and longevity. Just feel lucky that you are so young and getting an early start on taking good care of yourself.
