Hi,

I will be going to away to study for 3 months with a final examination at the end. I am looking into a nootropic stack to help with memory recollection / mental alertness / focused ability.

I am a male of 35yrs on a lacto ova vegetarian diet.

Out of the nootropics and supplments I have on hand and need to use up; I was thinking of the following:

Class Day's = Mon - Fri:

Deprenyl 5 mg (1 x Day)
Piracetam 2,400 mg (2 x Day)
L-Huperzine A 200 mcg (1 x Day)
Choline 250 mg (2 x Day)

Phospahtidyl Serine 100mg (2 x Day)
Ginkgo Biloba 400mg (2 x Day)
Korean Ginseng 200mg (2 x Day)

Exam Days (5 days Prior and during)

Deprenyl 5 mg
Centrophenoxine 500 mg
Piracetam 1,200 mg (2 x Day)
Aniracetam 750 mg
Hydergine 2.25-5 mg
L-Huperzine A 200 mcg (2 x Day)
Galantamine 8 mg
Alpha GPC 600mg
Choline 250 mg (2 x Day)

I also take a vit & min supplement that contains:

Multi Vitamin And Mineral: (1 x Day)

Vitamin A 750µg
Vitamin E (50 i.u.)
Vitamin C 150mg
Thiamin (B1) 39mg
Riboflavin (B2) 50mg
Niacin (B3) 50mg
Vitamin B6 41mg
Folacin (Folic Acid) 200µg
Vitamin B12 50µg
Biotin 50µg
Pantothenic Acid 50mg
Calcium 158mg
(40mg as Amino Acid Chelate)
Phosphorus 91mg
Iron 15mg
Magnesium 60mg
Zinc 10mg
Iodine 100µg
Manganese 1mg
Copper 1000µg
Molybdenum 25µg
Chromium 25µg
Selenium 32.5µg
Vanadium 25µg
Choline Bitartrate 50mg
Inositol 50mg
Methionine 50mg
PABA 50mg
Citrus Bioflavanoids 25mg
Lysine HCI 22mg
Cysteine 0.6mg
Hesperidin 10mg
Betaine HCl 12mg
Rutin 2mg
Papain 2mg
Lecithin 40mg

Other daily supplements:

Sodium Ascorbate Powder 5,000mg (2 x Day)
Vegan Omega 3: EPA = 50mg / DHA = 350mg (1 x Day)

Sat & Sun: OFF

Please advise on whether this stack would work and if I need to remove or reduce or increase any dosages. I do not really want to add anything new to the stack if it can be avoided.

Thank you in advance.

I think Racetams should be taken daily for it to be beneficial (and for a few weeks)
Though i my self, have some sort of bad side effect from Deprenyl
Even at very lose doses such as 1.25 mg (a 5mg tablet broken in to quarters) makes me feel retarded, blanks out my memory, logical thinking is out in to the toilet and also makes me feel like shit with no motivation... this is the opposite of what it calms to do !!!!

I wonder why....

same thing with Methyl Donors like TMG, methyl b12, makes me feel agitated, anxious eg... and i dont think im over methylated at all.

You'd probably wanna add Modafinil to the list too...
Though i object to its effects, it makes me tired rather then awake..

Might want to start with a high attack dose for racetams, they have cumulative effects but take a while to build up. Maybe 4/5g a day for the first week or so. Also I see no reason to stop on weekends. Have you considered cod liver oil as well for supplements? It can't fix anything but in case you have a deficiency might help make sure you're at 100%.

I wouldn't take any of the above. The chance you end up with major brain fog is just too big. You don't have time (3 months) to tweak your stack for your needs. It will probably do you more harm then good in the short run.

Ditto. Just take care of your health via diet, sleep, and exercise. Study hard!

If I started now, would that help. I am due to start studying in Sept 09 and am currently on huperzine A.

Hey there, just curious how this stack is working out for you. Was thinking of giving it a try myself.

Surely thats far too much choline/acetylcholine? Id only take one of the choline boosting supplements daily then in study hard periods take huperzine.

All you need is Methylene blue and maybe a cholinergic.

Ok this right here:

"
L-Huperzine A 200 mcg (2 x Day)
Galantamine 8 mg
Alpha GPC 600mg
Choline 250 mg (2 x Day)"

Is a recipe for absolute disaster. You're taking a double dose of hup-A (not advisable by itself) combining it with a full dose of galantamine (which does the exact same thing as Hup-A, prevents the breakdown of acetylcholine) and then taking large amounts of alpha GPC and Choline!!!! I am not joking if you take this I guarantee you will feel like death in a matter of hours and it will last for the rest of the day.

More is not better with this stuff! You need to choose either hup-A (200mg once per day) or Galantamine (8mg). And then when you take them either take no choline at all (including alpha-gpc) or take only a very small amount. Anything more than that will overload you with acetylcholine and cause muscle rigidity, severe brain fog, massive tension headaches, etc. Seriously you have enough pro-choline supplements in that stack to ruin your day 4 times over.

Everything else looks ok.

I have postponed my study trip untill next year; so that I can build up a good regime.

I dropped the piracetam, Phospahtidyl Serine, ginko and ginsing as I found they offered me no noticable results.

I tried Aniracetam in place of the piracetam and did notice a slight result but was only on for 2 weeks (will try that one again on its own later).

I bought some Pram with alpha GPC and took that on its own a couple of times; felt strong so may use it for exam day's with the galamantine.

I purchased a bottle of Get Smart which contains:

Vinpocetine

10

mg

Centrophenoxine

250

mg

Pyritinol

125

mg

Picamilon

100

mg

Aniracetam

300

mg

Oxiracetam

15

mg

Idebenone 10

mg

Galantamine 300

mcg

Huperzine A 100

mcg

I bought it so as to have a ready made stack for when I went abroad. So i decided to start taking it after a few weeks break from nootropics. I must say I do feel more eager to study and I am finding that I am more prone to keep looking for the answer to difficult questions rather than giving up. It is the same feeling that i had from Hup A. I have ben on that for 2 weeks now.

I am also doing Deprenyl @ 1.25mg a day for 4 days a week as I was unsure about the 5mg a day.

I'm curious as to whether you get any results with that Get Smart, as I was considering getting some myself

Like I said. The feeling I am getting is akin to the feeling that I had on Hup A; now one of the ingredients in Get Smart is Hup A. It is probably to early to say whether it is working to it's full potential or not. I have 2 bottles and once I finish the bottles, I will be able to give a better personal review on whether they worked for me or not.
